Thought I’d try the Blogging thing again (Beth, you inspired me!) to keep everyone up to date on the family. Our day to day stuff is fairly typical but friends and family might get a kick out of it.

Anyhow, today was most likely Dominic’s last visit with his biomom. It was tough, we knew it would be an emotional day for his mom and that madke it hard on him as well. I made sure to get together a photo album for her, a Fimo handprint and some art projects that he had made and sent them on the visit. I decided it would be easier for him if I were to pick him up after the visit. How hard that was, his mom held in her emotions as she said her goodbyes but struggled to wave back when he said bye and waved. I can’t imagine what she must be going through, we have fallen head over heels in love with this little guy in the year and a half he’s been with us, I can’t imagine losing him.

Basically court tomorrow will be the state presenting their case for termination, the parents arguing their side and then the judge making a decsion. If they do decide to terminate parental rights, the parents have the right to appeal that decision (which they will I’m sure). His visits with his mom will stop, and the state will proceed with a permenancy plan for him. We have been told that we are the permenant plan for him but there are still a couple of relatives who want a shot. I don’t know the odds, or if the state has looked into them as a possbile placement.

Things with Trey’s adoption are moving right along…basically we are just waiting for the state to get the birth certificate and then a social security number for him then we go to court to make it official! We were hoping it would get done by the end of December when Dee’s dad and my brother and sister-in-law are in town but it’s not looking real positive. Getting the social security dept to rush something isn’t likely.

Can’t leave our Carlos…he’s a pistol these days and really keeping us on our toes. His favorite thing to do at this point is climb up on the recliner and pull the remote, phone, coffee, or whatever else is on the shelf, down. He’s in a bad pattern of sleeping half the night in his crib and then the rest of the night in bed with mamas. Dee and I are getting worn out, he’s not a still sleeper.

KIRO 710 is doing their foster child holiday program again this year…they do a really nice job of supporting the children in foster care. If you can, sponsor a child, just go to the KIRO 710 webpage and follow the links.

I’m going to try to be better about keeping this blog up to date!
