Logic.

You may be wondering why I have a picture of Bainbridge Island’s iconic “Frog Rock” on the blog. Well, it’s just a visual for you who may not be familiar with it.

Honestly people, this is my life!

Levi: “Mom, I wonder why it’s called Frog Rock”.

Me: “Dude, REALLY? Why do you think?”.

Levi: “Well, maybe it’s because it looks like a frog, an it’s a rock”.

And as I pulled over to type this as my Facebook status…
Levi: “Do you remember that book “Everyone Poops”?”
Me: “Yes, Levi, why?”
Levi: “Well, not everyone poops”
Me: “Yes, yes they do.”
Levi: “Well, actually there are some animals who don’t poop.”
Me: “If it eats, it poops.”
Levi: “Well, not that one special bug.”
Me: “Yes, even that one special bug poops.”
Levi: “No, Mom, you AND the book are just wrong.”

Story of my life…..

Boys Will Be Boys

Rain or shine, our boys love to be outside. They busy themselves by making forts, playing Harry Potter and stirring up mud potions and whatever else catches sparks their imagination. When the sun is shining (even when it’s 45 degrees out) the shirts come off ! I think it’s hilarious. They take their play seriously!

Carlos' Crush

It was bound to happen, just didn’t think so soon…Carlos has a crush. It’s classic storybook stuff here, it’s on his Kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Cottle. He adores her and acts all goofy. He’s even got the wink down now.

So last night some of the teachers from his school were reading books down at our local bookstore (and 25% of the evening’s profits went to the school library). Mrs. Cottle was one of the readers, and Levi and Carlos had gift certificates from their birthday to spend so we ventured down. What a great evening, the different teachers reading was fantastic. They picked out their favorite books and really put everything into reading them. Mrs. Cottle read “Make Way for Ducklings”, one that I remember fondly from my childhood. While she was reading and holding the book away from Carlos, he fell backward out of his chair. I have never seen him move so quickly, trying to right himself before she turned his way. Whew, he did it. Then he kept scooting closer and closer to her until he was practically in her lap.
Strange but sweet to see this other side of my little guy. 🙂

Hogwarts Academy

Here are some pics from the boys birthday party – a grand time was had by all! We had all of the kids divided into houses (Gryffindor, Slytherin, Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff) and they got each got a lightening bolt scar with their house color and played some games. Tug of war, wizard stomp and a golden snitch relay. Making potions (7up, sherbet, gummy worms and pop rocks) was a hit as well as tasting Bertie Botts Every Flavor Beans. We did the cake (thanks Monica!) and ended with a trip through Honeyduke’s Sweet Shoppe. The boys are blessed with some amazing friends, and we love that we get along so well with their parents!

Goin Buggy

This is video clips from Levi’s play, Goin Buggy. He had a tough time learning his lines, but he worked hard and it paid off. We listened to it in the car, played it all night (gotta at least TRY for the subconscious) and when all was said and done, we were proud, proud mamas. He was one of the only kids who said his lines loudly and clearly. He was the perfect caterpillar! Way to go, Levi.
