Still no word about Levi’s case…we’re on pins and needles and hoping we hear something tomorrow! We will surely keep you all posted, thanks for all the emails of support, we are so thankful to have so many people who care!
Yesterday was fun, the kids were in a photo shoot for our friend’s company’s website, Childwood Magnets. Here are some of the pictures. Don’t know who will make the cut but it’s fun! I also sent the boys pics into a baby Gap contest so they could be FAMOUS and mama K would love the new Gap clothes for them all!
Took the out to dinner at the casino’s buffett and Trey ate like a man! I think he put down more pasta then the rest of us put together. He’s all about the carbs right now and we’re trying to curb that real quick.
I headed off to volleyball after dinner and our team did great, we won the first game but lost the second. Played well, so it was a good night all in all.
Still trying to plan Dee’s party, should be fun and hope you all can make it. Saturday, Oct 14th at 5pm at Liberty Ridge Apartments. It’s the big 4-0!

We got a new couch! Well, new to us at least. We road tripped out to Port Orchard last night with Mary (she was laughing because she always wanted to know what happens on lesbian date night….pick up furniture and stop at A&W for rootbeer floats!). Anyhow, the new couch is great. We decided to not say anything to the boys and see what their reaction was in the morning. Levi noticed right away, and stayed on the couch a long time this morning and he said “I love this little couch, I love it” so I think we made the right choice.

Got to have a nice, relaxing morning with Patti and Jeanie, we had breakfast and the boys played with the toys at gramma’s while we sat and chatted and read the paper. Just like the old days!

I did my shopping and came home for dinner with my parents and the boy’s godmother, Ann. What a treat! Dee whipped up some yummy chicken and my mom brought the salad. Ann brought some cupcakes and Trey ate his AND Carlos’. Bathtime and bedtime….now it’s time for mamas to kick back and get ready to start another week.

I took the big boys to the Island School Carnival…they came home with pink/purple mohawks and cotton candy sugar smiles!

We’ve got our names on a couple of auction items so we’ll be excited to see if we won anything (fingers crossed, one is for Dee’s birthday present!).

Heading to Port Orchard tonight and possibly getting a new couch from someone who’s selling it cheap.

We got the adoption support paperwork from the state today and we got everything we asked for. YIPPEE! It’s all coming together and quickly it’s it starting to feel real!

Took the crew to Pheasant Field Farms in Silverdale today for a farm tour. They loved picking out a pumpkin and getting to watch while the farmer fed the animals. We learned a few things along the way as well, like the farmer has two llamas with the goats and sheep to protect them from coyotes. Apparently they will attack if they need to, good to know! The corn maze was fun as well, although I don’t think they really “got it” but the walk was nice.

Levi’s new phase….”peace out”…good for all occasions saying goodbye. If you see him, you’ll hear it! It cracks me up!

Happy weekend all!

We had GREAT, FANTASTIC news concerning Levi’s court case yesterday. Apparently things went very well for the state’s side and not so well for biodad’s appeal. Also, the judge is going to be out of town so he/she will have the decision back in a week. So, if all goes well and they lose the appeal like we think they are going to, then the adoption will happen on November 15th! We couldn’t be happier, this has been a rollercoaster 2 1/2 years and to see the light at the end of the tunnel is almost too good to be true.

We played out in the garden today and took out all the dead things (most the garden) and are getting it all ready for the winter. Next year’s garden should be impressive since we have all the boxes done and Dee’s almost got the hoses set up in each box so that’ll be less to start with next year.

Tomorrow should be fun, I’m taking the kids out to Pheasant Field Farms to go on a farm tour where they get to feed the animals, go through a corn maze and at the end they get a little pumpkin to take home. It should be really fun!

I’ll keep you all posted on Levi’s case…thanks for the support!

It was a busy weekend at the Field-Bennett household! First off, we had our famliy photos taken by our friend, Carolyn and they came out great! It took about 50 shots to get 5 great ones, but that’s kinda how it works. It all worked out amazingly well since Dee, Trey and Levi are all sick with a bad cold.

Despite the cold, Dee and I also got to go on DATE NIGHT (yee haw, it’s been too long since we’ve been out without kids). We went and saw “The Guardian”, the new Kevin Costner movie. It was really intense and good, I’d highly recommend it. It’s amazing how just sitting in a theater holding hands can be such a great feeling. It really got me thinking, and since this isn’t a reality for the majority of the couples
I know, it might seem weird. But since we are a gay couple, we can’t just show affection to eachother out in public without making waves or getting stares or whatever, so we respect others and don’t but it’s tough. It’s hard to only show your affection to someone when you are behind closed doors. A simple hand holding is so much more. Just something to think about….

Ok, so we watched the Hawks seriously lose tonight, that was a major disappointment for sure. We just didn’t even come out to play.

This week has lots to be anxious about…the oral arguements for Levi’s biodad’s appeal start on Wednesday and also our conference with his teachers. Hoping to hear some good reports, he seems to be really enjoying school and doing well.

Views from the yard….we put up the bounce house again for the last time this summer. The kids had a blast and bounced until they couldn’t bounce anymore. Dee and I got in on the fun as well, tossing the kids onto the bouncy floor and wrestling. They loved it.

The swingset we got has been a HUGE hit as well, although Alice and Levi did bonk swings and set Alice tumbling. Nothing major that a Dora bandaid and a kiss couldn’t fix. Anyhow, we’ve been soaking up the sun while it lasts but the chill of Fall is sure in the air.

Hoping to take the boys to the BHS football game tonight, they love it! Hoping for a mellow weekend and catching up on some sleep, ya right.

On a side note……JOY LOOMIS WE MISS SEEING YOU!!!!!!!!!!!

Nana took the big boys to the trains on Saturday, they sure had fun! They got to see how the engines worked and ride a 10 minute ride on a mini steam train. Got home and went to Patti and Jeanie’s for a Pampered Chef party then home to bed.
They woke up seriously early for a Sunday morning so we took them down to the bakery and had a pul apart before church (the fancy clothes). After church they changed into their “football Sunday’ clothes and watched the Hawks game.

September 22. 2006

We’ve been busy building Lego towers (this one reaches all the way to the ceiling, rock on Dee!) and teaching the boys all about football. Trey’s new thing is to say “touchdown” and throw up his hands. It’s too cute. He’s really talking a LOT but I think he’s got a few first words that are quite unique. For example, “I rock”, “Oh Chill” and “Bummer” are ones he says a ton and it’s hilarious. I’m guessing not too many babies are saying that, he’s a genius. I also love this picture of Trey in our bed….he may be big for his age, but he’s still a baby! Someone asked how big the boys were now so here’s the breakdown…Levi is 34 pounds, Carlos is 24 pounds and Trey is 30 pounds. We surely have the extremes!
Levi’s social worker came to visit this morning. We didn’t learn anything new, just that the appeal is going to be presented on Oct 4 and from there it’ll be about 4 weeks until the judge makes a decision. They have us penciled in for Levi’s adoption on National Adoption Day, which is November 17th. This would be truly remarkable! Keep your fingers crossed.
My folks came over for dinner tonight, it was great to just hang out and have a bite to eat and then have Nana and Papa read book after book after book to them before bedtime. Tomorrow my mom is going to take Levi and Carlos to a miniature steam train in Port Orchard. They will go nuts!
