Baby’s doing well, she has given us a scare by not eating a ton, but she’s starting to do better now and wakes up often and is totally alert. Very sweet baby!
Had a great evening, Nana and Papa came and celebrated Valentine’s Day early with the boys. They got new Chevron cars (their new favorite thing…keep you eyes open for them!) and we had a really nice dinner. The boys were tired from a busy weekend and went down easy to bed.
I’m off to bed, too…it’s Dee’s night to get up with the baby. Ah, sleep!
We have a girl! Got the call this afternoon for short-term care for a 2 day old baby. She’s a sweetie. She seems to sleep alot now, we’ll see when the evening hours roll around. Don’t think we can do the “sportscenter” treatment like we do the boys but maybe she’ll watch the Oxygen channel all night. LOL. This is our first girl…what do we do?!
Took the boys to the symphony today, made it a great outing with the “big boys”, me and Nana. They loved it, Carlos got into it and even did the hand motions, while Levi liked the music but spent most the time goofing off. Didn’t matter, though, it was a kid’s performance. Nana even treated them to gelato afterward, even though it was only 10:30 in the morning! What a treat. Got a little shopping in afterward, came home and got the boys down for a nap.
Carlos was already asleep when I brought the baby home, but Trey and Levi thought she was pretty cool. Carlos will go nuts in the morning when he sees her, he LOVES babies and has been asking us when we were going to get another one.
So I’ve been inspired by our friend, Gay to start on a no-wheat, no-dairy diet. It’s not a true “diet” since you can really eat whatever you want but it’s a lifestyle change. Gay’s lost 60 pounds on it already and Allie just started and has lost 20 pounds! I’m optimistic…we’re going to get a treadmill here soon so I can walk at naptime and cutting out the wheat and dairy will help, too. So, hopefully by summer you will start to see a brand new me. It won’t be easy, but with the lactose intolerance, I won’t miss the dairy too badly, but these are surely in all the things we eat on a day to day basis.
I’ve got Nate and Connor coming over for a little while in the morning, but Levi doesn’t have school and I don’t have any other kids so we are going to head out to Silverdale and have lunch with Mary, Judy (other foster parents) and Suzanne! Can’t wait. Also hoping that JC Penney has found our pictures…apparently Fed Ex lost them somewhere in Reno. Just my luck! But I think they will compensate us with extra pictures of the boys, so if you want one let us know!
What a hectic weekend! First off, I was gone both Friday and Saturday at the Metro District wrestling tournament (my friend Kim and I did the computers) so Dee was home with the boys. Nana and Papa came over to help on Saturday when Dee put up sheetrock on our living room ceiling. Big job! Looks good, though. 🙂
Today we got up, went to coffee with Margaret. It’s tougher when we can’t sit outside, the boys don’t do as well when they just have to sit at the table. Anyhow, came home and put the boys down for an early nap, then went over to Mary, Ryan and Alice’s place to watch the Super Bowl. It was a very cool setup….Kathy arranged for a babysitter for the kids, so they played downstairs the WHOLE GAME and we got to actually watch it. Sweet! We were happy, had a great time, and now have thoughts of “poker nights” and having the kids with a babysitter downstairs.
I got inspired to make up some funny shirts for the boys tonight. We have the iron on paper so all I have to do is print out whatever I want, then iron it onto a t-shirt. So far we have some Valentine’s shirts “Heartbreaker” “Hug Me” and “Ladies Man” and some just funny ones. For Trey “Does this diaper make my butt look big?” For Carlos “Sorry ladies…pimps don’t fall in love” and for Levi “I Kind of a Big Deal”
Off to bed….busy week ahead!
Happy 5th Birthday Pickle!
The happenings of the day…Levi and Alice went to preschool, Nana took Carlos to feed the ducks and to have “noodles and meat” (their Tuesday tradition) and then Nana and Papa came to have dinner with us tonight.
After dinner and bath I took the big boys to the high school basketball game. They just love going and the action and treats they get. It’s been tough getting Carlos down to bed after he gets to excited.
Not much planned for tomorrow….going to playgroup then off to find some 7 WIDE shoes for baby Trey.
