I took Carlos and Trey (and the baby) out to “The Zone” this morning to run and run and run. The space is huge as you can see by the first picture…both the boys are in the pic they just look like specs. They had a blast playing with the balls and spent an hour moving their bodies. By the end they were wiped out, we stopped quickly at the resale shop and got a few new things for the baby before we headed home to meet Levi’s bus. Carolyn brought her foster guy over and he and our baby were crashed here together, its too cute they must think they are twins and love sleeping next to eachother.
We were supposed to have dinner last night with Beth and Michal, but they missed the boat so it didn’t work out. WE WERE BUMMED OUT! Still hoping we get a chance to see them this trip, we miss them. 🙂
The boys ate and went to bed with minimal complaints…ah, that was nice.

March 12, 2007

This is what it looks like when the power goes out in the middle of the night and your boys get scared and want to sleep in mamas bed.
We had a great dinner with our friends Carolyn, Joe and Stefanie…nothing fancy just pizza and chatting. The boys all were a little foochy and got scrubbed down in the tub. We’re usually SO good about it, but for some reason it’s been a couple days. With the time change we’ve been just off.
Dee had the kids on Saturday night when I went out, but I got home around 11:30 and all the kids but Trey were still awake when I got home! They were bouncing on the “beds” in the living room (Dee had taken the big boy’s matresses and put them in the living room to sleep on). We finally got them to crash and they were up early in the morning. They had so much fun we’re going to try to do the sleep over at least once a month with them.
Oh, thanks for the voting on Baby Idol…I don’t know how (it must have been rigged) but none of our boys made it to the top 100 babies. Seriously, they were the cutest in there BY FAR so what the hell.
Off to bed here…baby’s got an early visit in the morning!

What a great concert….for my birthday Dee got me tickets to see Peter Cetera (used to be the lead for Chicago) with the Seattle Symphony. It was AMAZING! I think he’s a hottie and love his voice, and he was funny too. My folks went with us so that was fun, too. What a great evening out.

Oh, shouldn’t be a suprise but we aren’t getting the new little guy and our sweet little girl may be staying for a couple more weeks. It’ll all work out, she’s a great baby so we can’t complain too much.

Here are a few pictures from the birthday…so nice to hang out with the family and eat C0ld Stone ice cream cake (my absolute favorite). The boys woke me up by singing Happy Birthday to You and about made me cry. All in all it was a great day!

March 7, 2007

Tomorrow’s my bday, 35th. It’ll be full of kids and then my folks are coming over for dinner. Can’t wait for my dad’s hand stuffed rigatoni, my birthday meal for the last 30 years I think. And an ice cream cake? Could life get any better? For my celebration with Dee, we are headed to the symphony on Friday night to see Peter Cetera perform. Should be a great show and such a treat to have a night out in the big city.
Tonight Suzanne and I went to a Dream Dinners introduction and got to make our 6 (3 serving) meals for $49.50. Can’t wait to eat them, they look and smell divine. We’re setting up a Sneak Peak for our friends/family/whoever wants to go on Friday, March 16th at 5:30. So, if you want to go just email me and ask how. It’s the same $49.50 deal that we just did. You won’t be sorry you did it!

I know it’s been a few days (sorry Nathan…but thanks for the reminder calls!) but we’ve been busy! Thursday we had 10 kids in the house….Nana brought Mykenna over to play for a bit, then Carolyn brought two foster babies and Javier were here a short time then I had Alice, Jefferson, Levi, Carlos, Trey and our foster baby. No worries, I only had 8 at one time lol.

Friday was fun and also tough. Started out by taking the kids to see “Wild Hogs” which I know isn’t a kids movie, but it’s part of our local theater’s Movies for Mommies program and they didn’t care what was playing on the screen but only that they had popcorn and candy. They loved the motorcycles, too. The tough part came when we had to say goodbye to Carolyn’s little one who was going to live with her grandma. She’s such a sweetie baby, we’ll miss her smile and snorky laugh. It’s hard but all part of the foster parent gig.

We still have our little one and she’s doing great. What an EASY baby! We still have to take two cars everywhere so that’s a total pain. The idea was brought up for us to start up a “The Field-Bennetts need a minivan” campaign and solicit donations. Or someone could just buy us one…that would be great, too.
Also, voting starts Monday for the Baby Idol and you can vote as much as you want…PLEASE vote!!! I don’t even know what the prizes are, but wouldn’t it be cool to say you know the Baby Idol of Seattle? So vote, get your friends, family, co-workers, everyone on your email list to vote!!!!!!

February 28, 2007

No new pictures…we’ve been taking them, just haven’t had time to put them online.

So, now ALL the boys are up on the Movin’ 92.5 Baby Idol page (see prior post for link). Levi and Carlos are at the bottom of their pages. Fingers are crossed that our cutie patootie boys will make it to the finals where we can vote for them! They are the cutest kids on the site by far.

Baby’s got a visit with mom tomorrow that I’m taking her to, then I’ve got an open house at Dream Dinners (another free dinner to bring home!) and I’m hoping we can book a time to make a couple meals (or win a door prize of meals) but I’m not sure they are going to fit in with the no wheat/no dairy diet.

FOLLOW THIS LINK….it’s for the Movin’ 92.5 Baby Idol contest, then scroll down to the “T-Z”s and find Trey F. Pretty cool, huh? If it gets to the voting stage I’ll let everyone know so you can vote for him. I entered the other boys as well, but haven’t seen them on the website yet. Keep looking!

We’ve still got the baby…she’s still doing great and we are one big happy family. Honestly, though, we are not in the market for another baby to raise but it’s fun to have a new one around to snuggle.

The weekend was packed, but we had fun at Zoe’s going away party and the Guatemalan adoption group party. The boys are getting used to parties, we’re going to be in trouble! We ended the weekend with a nice, mellow dinner with Nana and Papa and had a pretty easy day today, getting back into routine. We went to the park and played and Mamas got our hair cut.

Here’s too a fairly normal week!

February 23, 2007

Spring is coming! We have flowers blooming in our front beds, it’s totally cool although it’s still cold as anything out. We have been trying to get the boys out to run off some energy everyday but it’s tough when it’s sunny, freezing and windy one day and pouring down rain the next. We’ve eliminated tv (except every other night they get to watch -art of a chapter movie before bed) and the boys are doing great with it. Mornings are hardest because they used to watch Dora while they ate breakfast, but change is good.

We still have the baby…not sure the plan for her at this point. She’s been amazing, really no problem at all. She only gets up twice at night, so lack of sleep hasn’t been too much an issue either. The boys have been sick with colds so they are getting up more during the night than the baby. So, we’re exhausted but it’s our own guys doing it to us. Looking forward to the weekend and getting some Zzzzz and maybe even napping when the kids do (oh, can you imagine!?)

Went to Macys (formerly known as the Bon) today since they were having a big sale on their clearance items and got each of the boys warm, winter Nike coats for $5.99! They were marked down from $80, so it was quite the deal. Put them on them after naptime and they loved them, and stayed warm outside. They are really big so hoping they will fit next year as well. Also got them some Seahawks jerseys and sweatshirts!
Busy weekend but should be fun….we have a a Guatemalan adoption group party on Sunday and then dinner at Nana/Papas Sunday night. Oh and our NAPS! Happy weekend all.

Random pics….things have been same ol same ol around here. Lots of kids! We still have the baby, she’s doing great. We don’t know anything about the case or when she might be going. It’s been fun having baby time and she’s a sweetie.
Abbie’s turning 5 tomorrow and the boys want to make her a cake. Seriously, a dog birthday cake? Oh well, we can try.

February 17, 2007

So far it’s been a lazy morning, we’ve been watching our home movies (thanks, Jenn for the cool movie….www.stellerproduction.com) and snuggling with the boys and girl.
Excited to go to the movies today with my parents, we haven’t been out to a movie in ages and Caroline is going to come watch the boys so we can go. Can’t wait! There are so many I want to see, but we rarely get the time.
After the movie it’ll be pizza, bathes and bedtime and then Dee and I are going to get to work on organizing the toys. As of now, it’s a nightmare and they really aren’t playing with things as much as they are dumping bins out. That’s gotta change…clean out the ones they don’t play with anymore or move some upstairs to the playroom.
Happy weekend all!
