Yesterday I got the kids some glasses frames from Target for $1 each and the kids loved them! What a cheap, easy way to dress up, and it turned out to be a total nerdfest but adorable.

Today was SUPER busy, Carolyn and I took the kids into Seattle to the Pacific Science Center to “Grossology” Basically it was a tour of the human body in kid science language and displays focusing on belches, nasty smells, snot, and other foul things our bodies can do. Needlesstosay, the kids loved it. They got to climb up the scab/blister/wart wall, slide down the esophogus into the stomach and crawl through the intestines and more. There were a few minor meltdowns but all in all they had a good time. Went on a speed shopping trip to IKEA afterward, seriously we got the kids checked into the play area and we sped through and realized we had to be on the 4:40 boat and ran to the checkout and got down to the boat. Not so relaxing to have kids running out to the van in their socks because we can’t waste a minute putting on their shoes. I need to go back and really “do” IKEA, love that place.

Joe and Stefanie brought a great dinner over tonight, what a treat! Its always nice to not have to cook, especially after such a busy day. Dee had to work late, but took a break to eat with us so that was nice. Got the boys to bed with just a little fuss and fingers are crossed they give us a break tonight and just sleep.

Well, it’s Spring Break and all the kids are home all day to play, yippee! We’ve had fun day #1. We played with trains (we got some new fancy pieces so we could make much better tracks). We also fed the neighbors chickens and tried to chase them around the yard but the boys wouldn’t let them get far enough out of the cage and kept running them back into their pen. We did 3-D easter egg cutouts most of the morning yesterday and even ran around outside some after nap, too. Carlos got to go to “noodles and meat” with Nana and Papa, his favorite.
The day ended with this beautiful rainbow right in front of Seattle, gorgeous!
Oh, and here’s a link to Trey having a meltdown. As some don’t believe that sweet, smiling baby Trey has a temper…here is your proof.

So we had a busy day…Alice and Jefferson were here, Levi and Alice had school and Nevaeh went on a visit. While the others were gone, I took Carlos, Trey and Jefferson to the Kid’s Museum and they ad a great time playing with all the golf balls in the physics display and we did a little art. Did some paint with water at home and played outside some, too. I even got the lawn mowed at naptime! Levi is fasting (claiming to eat anything but snacks…HA! he’s in for a shocker when he doesn’t get snacks)…Carlos is slapping people…Trey is screeching. That was my day.

Ended on a high note with Sawatdy’s for dinner…YUM!

Had a really nice evening tonight….our friends, Holly and JC came over with their kids for dinner. Who doesn’t love pizza? Anyhow, it was lots of fun. Gabe, their son, is a genius I swear. He’s 2 1/2 and knows all the planets in order and can spell all their names. AMAZING. Trey didn’t want to be outdone and ate 3 pieces of pizza to prove himself!

We took the boys up to Bay Hay and Feed this morning and got them all new boots and Crocs. They are stylin now for sure. I honestly think Crocs are the weirdest little shoes, but after trying on my mom’s pair, they are truly comfortable and amazingly lightweight. The boys can get theirs on by themselves, too and they really like them.

OH…flu’s better….woke up ache free and Dee and I spent naptime scrubbing the kitchen floor/bathroom and back deck. Slowly but surely spring cleaning comes. The upstairs is the HUGE next task, not looking forward to tackling that one. Baby steps…

Last night was GREAT….Mary, Martha and I went to see our friend, Holly O’Reilly (www.hollyoreilly.com) play at the Triple Door. She’s amazing and well worth checking out her music. Anyhow, the Triple Door was nice, too as we got to eat small expensive portions of super fancy food and I also had my first coconut martini. A night out was just what I needed.
Today was back into reality with putting Levi on the bus, ran to Silverdale to WIC, back in time to get Levi off the bus, make lunch, get them down for a nap then head outside to play until we froze and had to come in and watch “Polar Express” for the 800th time. Everyone’s in bed…I tackled the pile of laundry and caught up on my reality shows.
Tomorrow’s family dinner night with Mary and Alice and hoping the boys get haircuts, they are looking like hippies! 🙂

Carlos is our new resident fly catcher, check out the pictures! We’ve apparently got a fly issue (to be resolved by fly strips this weekend) and he has caught 7 flies with his bare hands. He sees one, zeros in, snatches it, smooshes it and then wants to take it outside to set it free. It’s very sweet but very nasty. He’s quite accurate, too.
We were busy, busy today starting out with shopping at the resale shop in Silverdale’s grand opening sale to get some things for our new little girl (who may be staying for a month or two now). The boys had fun with that, there was a clown and balloons. We tried to do a little Old Navy shopping but Levi and Carlos were laying on the floor so we left. We went over to the mall briefly and ate lunch and went to a couple stores but really didn’t find much, then to Target also quickly and then headed home. It was way too late to put anyone down for a nap so we went to Battle Point Park to run around for a little while. They had fun and Mama Dee even came to play!
We were going to go see our friend, Holly (www.hollyoreilly.com) perform, she rocks…but the boys were beat and without naps were not up for a public appearance. Mary and I are going to her show on Tuesday at the Triple Door. If you wanna come, it’s going to be lots of fun and some great music.
Happy weekend!

Busy day….after we came home and took naps (well, the boys did…I wasn’t so lucky) we headed out to Fay Bainbridge State Park to play. We thought we would go to the beach, but the kids didn’t make it past the big toy. Oh well, it was a blast and they got some more running in.
Enjoy the pics.
