Yo Ho, Yo Ho….

We’ve been teaching the boys a new song and they have been singing it ALL day. It’s pretty stinkin cute. It’s “Yo ho, yo ho a pirate’s life for me”

Today while Levi and Carlos were at school I took Alice, Trey and Baby X to the Kid’s Museum. There was a pirate camp preview and Trey and Alice followed this pirate around the muesum for about 45 minutes looking for treasure. It was pretty great, so we’ll see about getting the boys into pirate camp this summer. They also have a dino camp that Trey would go NUTS for.
Good news for Trey, he’ll be starting preschool at St. Barnabus next fall! Just found out today, this is great news for our little guy. It’s only a couple of days each week but that will be perfect for Trey to start out with since he’ll most likely have three years worth of preschool.
No school tomorrow but it should be fun. We’re going shopping for Baby X at Fred Meyer (our boys love to go play there and it’s a nice 1 hour break for me) and I promised them a visit to Chuck E. Cheese, then speech. Busy busy Wednesday.

Insomnia Killed the Microwave

I had trouble sleeping last night, not sure why…I got a chance to take a bit of a break and went with Suzanne and her kids (I had the baby and Trey) to the Supermall. Levi and Carlos had aikido and then my folks picked them up for a day with Nana/Papa where they were going to make pasta and then we would join them later for dinner. The pasta was tasty and the boys had fun making it. They didn’t act up and get crazy until we showed up.
So once we got home, the total meltdown continued until they fell asleep. I had a hard time falling asleep and tossed and turned all night. Morning came very early, as I was up at 5:30 getting ready to leave. I went with Carolyn and Suzanne to a consignment sale in Seattle of families of multiples. I got some things for the baby and a few things for the boys, all in all a fun outing and got some good deals.
I’ve been kind of zombie-ish all day and laid down with the boys to nap. Got up, was hungry and put some popcorn in the microwave. The “popcorn” setting never pops it enough, so I set the timer for 4:30 minutes then TOTALLY forgot that I had even started it. That’s when the house filled with foul smelling smoke and our microwave turned dark yellow inside. I scrubbed it, I scoured it, but it’s still yellow and it smells really nasty. Another one bites the dust. I’ve got a picture I’ll post..but you can basically get a good mental picture. White microwave turned yellow. Only wish the blog had smell-o-vision so you could truly understand the big picture. Yuck! If anyone has ideas on how to get rid of this smell throughout the house….let me know.

Busy Wednesday

We’re getting a new septic system…the boys were STUNNED to see a bulldozer right outside our front door. They kept waving at the driver and Carlos felt the need to crack the door open and keep reminding the worker to “be careful not to be hitting my tree”
We headed to Silverdale and did some shopping and speech (it IS harder with 4 kids!) and then met up with Fishers to play in the mall. Carlos took the walk down the mall as a chance to hold hands with Megan and Kayla and lead them to the play area. He’s a riot! They all enjoyed playing, they’ve been wanting to play there for quite awhile and we just haven’t had the time. I also found a $12 pair of cool Adidas tennis shoes for myself so I was happy about that.
Came home and Carolyn and the kids came to do some laundry and hang out.
MNMs tomorrow, yippee!!!!!!!!

April Fools!

Looks like the “big guy” played a little April Fool’s Day joke….Seattle’s gone missing!

We’ve got a new baby for the next 30 days. He’s 1 year old and having some adjustment issues but hopefully tomorrow will be an easier day for us all.

Fun in the Big City

So we had an adventure to the big city today with Mary and Alice. We had a nice breakfast, buckled up the kids and hopped on the ferry. I felt like such a tourist but we took lots of pictures of the kids on the boat.
One would think that going to IKEA with 4 kids (ages 2, 3, 4 and 5) wouldn’t be so fun or productive. Wrong, they have Smaland where all the kids but Trey got checked in to play for an hour. Trey was a super shopper! We picked up the others and grabbed a quick plate of meatballs before heading back to the car. Mary knew of a great spot to get dessert, not really for the food…but that was cool….but for the atmosphere. It’s the Rainforest Cafe. Their store/waiting area was felt like a rainforest with animated animals and a stunning aquarium. Carlos loved the snake and he could almost touch it from atop Dee’s shoulders (you can see it in the picture). We got the most incredible dessert, the brownie/ice cream volcano with a sparkler on top. Plus, they had cups that flashed that we bought and they now have to use at home. I’ve never seen anything like them.
Spring break this week…hoping to keep the kids all busy with art projects, trips to the park and whatever else we can come up with.

Baby Chick, the Earth and Jurassic Park

We had a pleasant Saturday that started off with a walk with Mary and Alice up to Bay Hay and Feed to pick up some plants for the garden and let the kids see the baby chicks. We are trying to make the garden the best this year and hoping to add some components (lady bugs? worms? bees?) that will help. Glad we didn’t plant our starts, as it snowed a little again yesterday.
Levi went for a playdate with Alice over at Grammie’s house and stayed there for 7 hours! We took Carlos and Trey for noodles and meat and then worked out in the garden for awhile.
Last night Bainbridge did a project for the Earth. Everyone was supposed to turn off their lights (and any other power consuming thing) from 8-9 to save energy. We got everyone ready for bed and then talked about what we were doing for the Earth. It was too bad to see that the majority of our neighbors had their lights blaring. Anyhow, we did our part then after the kids were asleep Dee and I watched Jurassic Park!
Off to IKEA today!

Bye Bye Ma

Look closely in the outdoor pictures…it SNOWED here today. These pictures don’t really show it but it was really coming down at one point. Nothing stuck but it was still crazy to see snow in late March.

So here’s Trey with his new “Chewie” (thanks Anne). Since he’s been chewing on his coat, his shirt, his toys, his hands…anything he can chew on. It’s nasty and just had to stop. Anyhow, another mom we know gave us “Chewie” and Trey loves it. He even wanted to chew it at naptime, so we had his “ma” (pacifier) go to the “Ma Fairy” (who then takes the ma and gives it to a baby who needs it). Trey is really growing up, not sure he’s good with the potty training, losing his ma and being BIG. He’s doing great, though, and only threw a mini tantrum when bedtime rolled around and he didn’t have his ma.
The boys were busy with aikido today, Levi had a playdate with Colby (his absolute favorite person to play with) and Carolyn and the kids and Mary and Alice joined us for family dinner, too. Always fun to hang out with friends! All in all a good day!

Turbo Jam

This is going to be me soon…well, maybe not quite…but close.
First off, you need to know that Dee is an “infomercial product buyer”. It’s pretty harmless, she doesn’t go mad and buy tons of stuff, just books here and there that promise household cures for every ailment, maybe a fancy new tool or this….Turbo Jam. It’s a workout system with kickboxing and upbeat music. It was actually a good buy, I did the workout this morning and it went really fast and I liked it. We will be getting a set of blinds for the front window, as it’s embarassing to be working out for the world to see, but I felt good doing it and had fun while I felt stupid trying to keep up with the moves. We’ll see….

Give Levi a Hug

Giving a shout out to our little Levi, he’s got a double ear infection going on and he’s been a trooper. When one of the guys say “my ear hurts” we tend to comfort them and then see if they bring it up again, as when we rush them to the doctor’s office there is usually nothing wrong. So, Levi told us on Monday about his ear hurting and I kind of let it go, then last night he said “ya know, mama K, my ear still does hurt” so we made the appt and sure enough he was telling the truth! Don’t diss me for being a bad mom, remember this was the kid who not long ago put a rock into his nose!
