Carlos Loves the Girls

So we had a placement worker call once and ask if we could take a newborn…Carlos was the only one up and I said “Dude, do you want us to have a baby for a little while?” and he said “Nah”. The placement worker knew we always got boys and said, “This one’s a girl” and I told Carlos and he said “Oh, I LOVE the girls!”

We got some baby time last night with a respite care placement. Carlos LOVES this baby and each time we pass her daycare he asks if we can pick her up. I’m thinking he’ll be a great dad someday.

Got Dirt?

Story of my life the last couple weeks…our septic system is being redone and we have trenches and 8 foot deep holes and countless pipes from the front yard to the back yard. We aren’t able to go play outside, for fear of a kid falling into a hole and never being seen again. Hoping they can get this done quickly!

Blast from the Past, pt 2

So I’ve been having fun the past couple of days uploading old pictures to my Facebook account. Are you on Facebook? Come find me!

Anyhow, it’s been a trip down memory lane for sure and a whole lot of fun reading people’s comments and memories. There are things I had forgotten and styles (the mullet) that should have been forgotten. All in all, good fun! Enjoy a little glimpse of some images of my past. If you want to see a ton more, check out Facebook.

So Nana and Papa are on a cruise…I’m jealous, we’re sitting here in the rain while they are sitting on their ship’s veranda heading to Mexico. The funniest thing is that Nana asked Carlos what he wanted her to bring back from her trip and he said, “well, I really want a soft sword…so you need to go into every store and try to find one. If you’ve gone into each store and can’t find one, then you can just bring me back something else.”

Little does Carlos know that I nixed the soft sword thing, so even if she did find one it would be a no go. We’ve tried swords with the boys, they LOVE them and want them but it always ends up badly.

Have a great trip Nana/Papa…we will miss you!

Super Heroes Everywhere

Oh Halloween is so fun! We got all gussied up, the boys as super heroes, me as a punk rocker and Dee as the Joker. In our town there is trick or treating downtown at all of the stores. Our church is right downtown and my favorite part about the event is the creepy organ music they play echoing through the streets as ghosts, ghouls and goblins trick or treat. I love seeing the costumes and running into friends. We finished our trek up and down Winslow Way and went into the church for their hot dog and chili dinner. Love that part, too!
After Winslow we stopped in to see some friends and have the boys trick or treat at their houses. Thank you Godma Ann, Teacher Kathy, Gay and Rob and our neighbors for putting up with our sugar crazed boys tonight.
Happy Halloween!

More Blast from the Past

Here’s me as a baby! Probably close to the last time I wore a dress.

Family friends, the LeRoys, Wells and Gaines…circa 1999. Fondest of memories with these families and we’re still friends and all with kids now! Check out their blogs, I have a link to the on the side here, just the names have changed (House of Dedons, Schmidt House and Coleman Family)

Here we are sitting happily on the porch with Abbie, pre-kids.

Baby Time

We’ve got a little one for a couple days while the state works out some issues with her case. She’s a sweetheart and it’s amazing to me how the boys just LOVE their baby time. They sure miss having a baby around. This was a picture when she woke up this morning, there are all the

guys just itching for her to be out of her bed. Good morning baby!
