Blue Porch

I don’t quite know how Dee got this awesome picture, with the paint clothes and all it looks like she did all the porch painting…but…it was mostly the boys and I, and then when Dee got home from work she touched up what we had done. It’s a great picture, though.
We had a job to do, finally a warm summer day and some willing helpers. Child labor laws were strictly observed and only a little paint was spilled. I have to admit, I had a hard time painting over the cute little blue footsteps going down the stairs….

Happy 5th Birthday, Trey Cameron

Can’t believe that my “baby” is now 5 years old. He has grown up to be a super sweet, kind and loving little guy. Our gentle giant for sure. We’ve always described Trey as a Great Dane puppy, playful and wild with no idea just how big he is.

He’s an amazingly smart kid, too and I’m in awe of him daily! Here’s to a happy, happy birthday for our baby boy.

Friday Fun Day

We are hoping to spend a lot of our Fridays doing “fun” stuff…last Friday was our first and it was perfect! We met up with the Barnums for a tour of the USS Turner Joy that is moored in downtown Bremerton. The kids were honestly like little cochroaches the way they scurried in and out of the ship’s nook and crannies. The one thing the boys kept saying is “this

boat sure has a lot of beds!” I would have to agree. The bunks were perfect for our guys, may have to have Dee build something similar for their room.
Levi had to get a picture with a giant wrench because he thought Dee would love it.
We ended the day by walking up to the food court area and endulging in Fritz’ fries and some Cold Stone creations while the kids got soaking wet in the cool fountain.
Can’t wait to see what’s in store for next Friday!

Apparently Allergic

Levi came out of the tent on Saturday morning with his eye swollen shut and black n blue. It was not pretty! Apparently at some point he had been bit by a bug and apparently, he’s allergic. Nothing that a trip to the dr’s office, a few mighty doses of Benedryl and a day resting at Nana and Papa’s couldn’t fix. The funny part about it was that Carlos was convinced that Levi had made the bug bite him just so he could have his face swell up and he could spend the day with Nana and Papa!

Camping

Our annual last week of school camping trip was a blast! The weather kind of cooperated. We had some time at the beach, survived nightly raccoon squabbles, lots of s’mores, a kindergarten conference while the kids were off biking (thanks Mrs. Cottle!), awesome visitors, friendship bracelets, Mary reading us bedtime stories and many more memories.

The babies camped for one night and slept at home (with a grown up, of course) the other nights. The boys were begging to stay another night, but it got COLD so we wimped out.

Always have a great time with Mary and Alice and the Lanning fam. Looking forward to our next trip already!

Last Day of School

I’m a little late in posting this, but this is Carlos’ last day of school. He was SOOOO excited to show Mrs. Cottle just how much he adores her. He told me we needed to get some flowers and we just HAD to bake a pie. I was more than happy to help out, but Carlos did the majority of the work. He mixed and rolled the crust, peeled and sliced the apples, made the caramel sauce and even cut and layered the lattice top! The pie was pretty and Mrs. Cottle loved it. The flowers he picked out were bigger than him! He looked so sweet carrying them in.

He’s off to Island School next year, but promised to say Hi to Mrs. Cottle when we pick up Trey next year.

Kindergarten Picnic

A tradition for each of the classes at Island School at the end of the year is to have a class party. There is officially no school and each class does something fun. This year, the Jaguars got invited to the Casino for their party. It was really to the resort part of the casino, and it’s spectacular! There was swimming in the pool, a beach walk and lunch together as well. Great time was had by all and the siblings got to go, too! If you are ever looking for a fun place to stay, check out the Clearwater Casino Resort, it’s a fun place that the whole family would love. Hoping to go back soon!

Sorry to see Levi’s first year of Island School come to an end, he really did love it and we feel so fortunate to be able to have him there. Looking forward to 1st grade!
