Happy Birthday, Mama Dee

It’s Dee’s birthday and we’ve been trying to do our best to spoil her. We had Sawatdy’s thai food (YUM!) for dinner and I baked her a chocolate zucchini cake at her request. The boys have been excited all day and they even sang to her at the breakfast table this morning, she was already at work but they were practicing for the “real” singing with the cake.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MAMA DEE, hope it was a great one!

Pumpkin Patch

Got up this morning, inspired to take the boys to church. It’s been WAY too long, don’t even want to admit it but this morning I took the boys and went. It was good, Trey and Levi went to Sunday School and Carlos was quiet but wanted to stay with Mama. That worked for me. Came home, changed clothes and headed out to the pumpkin patch.
We didn’t last long but did pick out 2 big carving pumpkins for the mamas, and each boy picked out a small one. Everyone left happy, it was a good day.

Visit to KiDiMu

Dee had to work on Saturday morning so the boys and I headed off to a garage sale (with Carolyn and her little ones), then got some free waffles at the Blue Ocean Cafe, checked out KiDiMu and their new Arthur exhibit and finally went to the library book sale.
Luckily Carolyn brought her camera with her to KiDiMu and got some great pics. They have a cool kitchen setup and the boys loved pretending to be librarians and “check out” books to eachother and me. Glad it’s not the Blue Man Group display anymore, our guys really didn’t get into that one so much but I will miss the belly patting song that played repeatedly. Don’t worry moms, now it’s the Arthur theme that plays non-stop!

Friday Fill Ins

And…here we go!
1. I enjoy my boys.
2. Life can be a challenge, but in the end it’s all good.
3. In my heart, I know it’ll all work out.
4. Take a tomboy kind of gal, add a little kid-energy and you end up with someone who’s happy.
5. Life has gifted me with amazing, supportive friends.
6. A day without tantrums is an instant vacation.
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I’m looking forward to the Homecoming football game, tomorrow my plans include the pumpkin patch and Sunday, I want to relax!

The Flip Side

Here are some pictures of Nana and Papa’s version of the days we were in Vegas. The boys were naughty and pushed the limits and all. They had a good time, made blackberry pie with Papa, read lots of books and watched lots of Scooby Doo but I think it’ll be awhile before we’re allowed to leave town again!

Vegas Pics

If you can imagine it…through those windows it’s pure ice! It’s a cool bar for sure, quite the experience.

All aboard, Margaritaville

Yet another bar, more booze

Foot massage after a long day of walking the Strip

No, I’m really NOT that sunburned. Seriously!

Beautiful fountains of Bellagio

Mary thinks the window washers might be kinda hot up there!

The lounge chairs are in the pool, what a great idea.

Arrgh, mornings in Vegas are not easy.

Look at those tourists!

Fun at the oxygen bar, with a monster/vodka drink and a massage.

Bartending competition at Kahunaville, they did some cool stuff.

Oh, Happy Dee!

We were about 3 feet away from these dolphins, it was incredible.

A trip to the liquor store was 1st on our list, we stocked up!

killin time

we are at the airport…sat this morning for a little while at the pool, lost a lutle money then got in one last guacamole fix at Dos Caminos. We are sitting at the airport now and we are really ready to be home.…wondering how the weather is looking in Seattle right now.

and just like that, its over

its the morning of our last day and I even slept in a little which was a luxury. Yesterday we took in the forum shops at Ceasars Palace, a cheeseburger in paradise at Margaritaville and sunned by the pool. We were out late last night, after the pool we headed to the Wynn for their fancy buffet and ate WAY too much food. They had anything you could imagine and lots of it.
Hopped the Deuce down to Bellagio and watched The fountains, which are always inspiring, then hopped back on the Deuce down to Madalay Bay where the ice bar, Minus 5 is at. It was amazing to say the least, we had to put on big parkas and boots and everything infide was made of ice, even our glasses!
In desparate need of coffee this morning then we are just planning on relaxing before we have to head to the airport this afternoon.
We have had an incredible time but I am ready to come home and hug my babies!
