Obsess Much?
The boys latest obsession (and I do NOT use that word lightly) is the Wii game, Skylanders. This is a marketing genius as you really do need extra figures to make the most out of the game and you can’t find the figures anywhere, as they tend to sell out the minute they hit the shelves. The boys go nuts when they see them. Anyhow, good has come out of it…Carlos has his first playdate and he and his friend were so excited to play Skylanders together. Turns out Trey also had a playdate and they wanted to do the same so there were 5 boys standing around the television mesmerized by the action on the screen.
We are still missing quite a few so if you happen to want to become the boy’s new best friend….here’s our list: Ignitor, Sunburn, Wham Shell, Double Trouble, Drill Sergeant, Zook, Camo, Warando, Lightning Rod and Whirlwind.
More Snow Pics
Happy to say we made the most out of our 3 snow days. Many trips outside to sled and snowboard down the hill, followed by hot chocolate and a movie while the clothes were warming up in the dryer then right back out to the snow. We made our snow family and had friends join us on the hill every day. Gay and Rob came over and Rob built a ramp, made a LOT of difference in the fun level of the hill. It melted fast and we never lost power so all in all a perfect mini vacation!
We Got Snow!
After the lack of snow yesterday, we went to bed last night with hopes of waking up to some white stuff. Carlos was the first up and I knew the minute I saw his face that we had some snow. Turns out we got about 5 inches! Our friend, Rob, came over for some sledding and we got out the snowboard. Levi and Carlos were naturals. Trey stuck to the sled and had a blast.
We came in and warmed up for awhile and then hit to slopes again. Some of the boy’s friends from school and our friends Gay and Rob stopped in and we had such a great time. So glad to now have anywhere to go so we can just hang out as a family and have fun.
Snow
We have been hearing over the past week about “Snowmageddon 2012” hitting the Northwest. We awoke with much anticipation to a slight dusting of snow on the yard. The boys, being 6, 7 and 8 year old boys, thought it was pretty cool and decided to head out and make a snowman. Much to my surprise, they actually did it. It’s about a foot tall but very cute. It was supposed to have a baby carrot nose and grapes for eyes but Abbie ate them before they made it on the snowman.
Just to be fair, although I still wouldn’t call it “Snowmageddon” we did get another 1/2″ or so later this afternoon. They say we’re not done but we’ll see. I live where I live because I can drive to the snow if I want to play it in but don’t much like it coming to me.
I’ve been suckered into the world of Pinterest….so many great ideas there!
I can’t wait to try this one…

I Can Dream…
My dear friend, Jenn is on an incredible journey with her son, Jack. Jack is being “road schooled” and in a perfect world, I would be able to hit the road and do this with our guys. But alas, this is not our journey and no “sugar daddy” has stepped up to pay our bills and expenses for a year and buy us an RV to travel in.
So I am living vicariously through Jenn and Jack. Very inspiring.
Check out their blogs if you are interested in a hands on type of schooling or just reading an interesting blog about a cross country trip. (oh, and leave a comment if you are so kind…it gets lonely on the road)
