Snowball Fight
Winter Has Hit
We had a random freak winter storm hit us this week, snow, ice, winds and NO POWER. The toughest part about the lack of power for us is that we have no heat. The babies (we have 2 right now) were snug and warm in their snowsuits, but the rest of us were getting chilly and crabby. We had places we could have gone to get warm, but that would have meant driving there…and since we live on a hill that was a solid sheet of ice, we were stranded.
Thank God for our neighbors, Viki and Ron, who brought us a generator to use. We hooked up a little space heater, put the mattresses in the living room and huddled up to keep warm.
The boys are really into chess and BINGO right now, so that helped to pass the time. We ate lots of PB&J and Dee even fired up the grill and stood in the 20 degree weather so we could have a hot meal (and coffee).
We were one of the lucky ones, our power came back on after only 2 days and we warmed right up. We are very thankful for all that we sometimes take for granted.

A Trip To S.A.M.

Last week I got to be a chaperone for a trip to the Seattle Art Museum with Levi and Carlos’ classes. I spent the first part of the trip with the Kindergarten (Carlos’ group) and ended with the 1st graders (Levi’s group). What fun to see all the kids in the big city. They have been studying Picasso in art class and all asked amazing questions and really got into the exhibit. It was fascinating. We got to go through the Pike Place Market before SAM because we had some time to kill. Always fun to have a doughnut and watch them throw some fish.
Happy Thanksgiving
