Every morning at our house starts with chaos…with 5 boys, I know that’s hard to believe. The source of most of the drama is from Trey, who wakes up with SO much energy he can’t even sit at the table to eat his breakfast. That gets the other boys going and you can only imagine. Trey is SUPER sweet and it’s tough to blame him because he honestly can’t control his own body but it is exhausting as a parent. One suggestion we had was to get him moving in the morning. So, Dee and I decided that we would take turns going on a walk with him before breakfast. Since he’s usually the first one up, we can get a walk in between 6:30 and 7am.
In my mind, I had this great mother/son bonding moment that was going to happen. Turns out, walking with Trey is painful. He drags his feet, he talks non-stop (usually repeating one or two phrases) and can’t stay walking in a straight line.
It is the first week, so I’m hoping it will get easier as we get into the routine of it. I see a difference at the breakfast table, though….he can actually almost sit through a meal!
