If you know me, you know I’m a big time coffee drinker but you may not know that I have always liked tea. It brings me back to childhood when my mom would make me a cup of tea with a little sugar and milk in it to make me feel better if something was wrong. It’s a comforting drink for me for sure, so I was more than willing to put down the java and give MYX teas a try. I only wish they had sent more! I got to try their St. Patrick’s Day green flavors, Green Jasmine Sunset and Green Pomegrante Mint. I honestly LOVED them both. It seriously made me reconsider my commitment to coffee. In my hectic life, it’s not often take the time to kick back and slowly sip an iced tea and with these teas I stepped out of the chaos and enjoyed my drink. I couldn’t wait to tell people about it. Truly, if you are a tea person, or not, try something new. This is worth it, you’ll be glad you did.

Are you familiar with the B.R.A.T. diet? It’s the diet recommendation from the pediatrician to help when one has stomach issues, to eat bland foods mainly bananas, rice, applesauce and toast. I recently got a chance to review a new product, Organic BRAT. The timing was perfect, as we went through the bought of the stomach flu at our house. Organic BRAT is a non-dairy drink that puts all the elements of the brat diet into a drink. After being sick, our little guy didn’t want to eat ANYTHING, and who could blame him? But he did drink the Organic BRAT and I felt good knowing that he had something in him that wouldn’t upset him tummy. He loved it and even asked for more when he was feeling better again. We got a sample to review, and so far his favorite flavor is the vanilla. I’ve seen it at our local Safeway I recommend having some on hand for anytime your little one isn’t quite feeling up to par or if the dreaded flu hits!

Time flies. Amazingly, another year has past and I’m now 38 years old! How did that happen? Still feel 20 something at heart, though. I’m blessed with an amazing family, incredible friends and so much love.

Carlos has officially started Kindergarten! Yes, we now have 2 boys in Kindergarten and it’s crazy. Sadly (but also happily) he no longer qualifies for his preschool. He’s overcome the speech delay he once had. Hard to remember back when speech was an issue for him, he is very clear now.

The Island School (where Levi goes to kindergarten) is awesome! Each year they do a month long study of a specific country that kicks off with a big assembly. This year it’s Brazil. They study the food, the culture, the people, the customs….they even have passports that they got stamped by “customs officials”.

Had a fun night on Friday night with a trip to Bay Hay and Feed for blueberry plants for the garden and lots of laughs with Mary and Alice at dinner.

Carlos is quite the little adult these days, such an old soul. The things he says and wants to do really aren’t what the regular 5 year old boy tends to gravitate to. Nana asked if we would be willing to help out at the coffee hour at chuch last weekend and Carlos volunteered to go with me. Just before we were going to duck out of the service to start the setup, Carlos leaned over and whispered in my ear, “Why are we going to set up and serve all of these people when they could be serving me?”
