More Snow

After settling in, we went out to play in the snow, of course. They have a shed here with tons and tons of snow gear. Sleds, cool snow skateboards (not snowboards, it was little with no bindings), snow shoes and cross country skis. I was skeptical about the snow shoes working, as I was still sinking down about an inch or two while I was walking in them, but after I tried walking around the house without them and stepped knee deep into snow, I got it.
The kids couldn’t wait to try cross country skiing. There is a trail (or about 160 miles of them) right outside our house so we see people skiing by at all times of the day. We didn’t take them on the trails, but just down the snow covered road in the neighborhood. It worked and they loved it. There was even a small hill at one point so they got to go “fast”. Of course, our thrill seeker Carlos thought that was cool. He then proceeded to jump up with his skis and try tricks. Trey was happy doing the snow shoes and kept jumping up from the road and onto the snow bank and back down again. Levi was really good at it once he got it and he liked it!
