Beachcombing

This morning we took Sandy and Papa B down to our beach, it was gorgeous! Sandy wanted to find more shells and she found a ton. We took the dogs down to play and Abbie spent the whole time in the water. She couldn’t have been happier. Trey and Carlos even got to wear shorts today, just like Mamas and the sunshine felt good. Levi worked hard to lift a huge rock but in the end needed a little help from the strong Mama Dee.
Sandy and Papa went back down to Hoquiam, they will be missed but we were so glad they came to stay for a week. What a treat! It truly is different staying with someone/having them stay with you rather than just visiting for a couple hours. We’ll get to see them again next weekend for a couple of days before they head back home to Illinois.

Fishin Fools

We had coffee this morning with Margaret and Todd, as is our Sunday tradition. Dee had gone to the new Lowe’s on an outing last night and heard about the old Lowe’s having 70-90% off on some things, so being the loving wife (and avid deal finder!) we headed out to check it out. What a disappointment. There were a couple of shelves of things but really nothing to write home about. We had a nice lunch then came home and grabbed up our fishing gear.
We didn’t have much luck with the fish, but we did bring up a few rock crabs and the boys always love that. Sandy was doing some beachcombing and wanted to bring home every shell she could find and we reassured her that our beach has tons of shells to collect as well. That will be the morning’s project. Levi found a bunch of starfish and couldn’t believe how strong they were as they held tight to their rocks. Sandy wanted to take those home, too!
One more night with the baby then he’s back to our friend’s house. It’s been nice to have some time with this sweet little guy.

Busy Busy Busy

We have kept super busy with Papa B and Sandy visiting. Swimming lessons are back in full swing for the next 3 months, and I just can’t help taking goofy pictures of the boys with their goggles on. Makes me smile.
We got up this morning and went to Seattle so Sandy could have a ferry ride and see the city a little. On the walk along the waterfront the boys were excited that the fire trucks were out and we snapped a quick picture. It’s always fun to shop along the waterfront, didn’t really buy anything but the boys love the Pirate’s Plunder store and I did find a pirate devil duck for the van. Ate lunch at Ivar’s and came home for a quick bit before heading back out. Dee dropped the boys to Saturday Club and then headed off to Lowe’s and Sportsman’s Warehouse with Papa B and Sandy while I went to a memorial service for a friend’s grandmother. It was nice to see all of their family, although such a sad way to get together.
Yes, we do have a baby boy with us for the long weekend and we’re enjoying the baby time. Can’t say too much about him or post pictures since the state frowns on that, but he’s adorable and he’s been through a whole hell of a lot in his 2 months. The last picture is at Ivars, when I asked for a 1/2 full mug of hot water to warm his bottle and they made it fancy and brought this bucket. Thought it looked like a high class way to warm a bottle!

Deals, Deals, Deals

Dee and I went to Old Navy this morning for their 50% off the clearance price sale and came out with a huge bag of clothes for the boys for next year and spent only $54.05. If we would have bought it retail it would have been $343.49. That’s a HUGE deal. I love this sale each time it comes around.
Next was a stop at JC Penney for some winter jackets for the boys for next year and with it four shirts and a Nike hat for each as well. Spent a total of $70.84 and saved 345.74! Not shabby for thick winter coats (that have a zip out fleece jacket inside…so really 2 coats for $11.98)

All in all a good day…if you are in Silverdale, GO TO OLD NAVY and save yourself some money!

Too Cute

Since the winter weather was crazy, Trey’s preschool performance was cancelled and rescheduled for today. It was great that he had Nana and Papa AND Papa B and Sandy here to watch him. It was tough to watch, though, since all the kids were doing what they needed to do and Trey just couldn’t focus long enough to participate.
Don’t know if I’ve talked much about it on the blog but we are dealing with ADHD with Trey and it’s tough. Looks like he’ll be getting into the developmental preschool here soon and thankfully get some much needed services. As a parent, it’s exhausting. Anyhow, we are trying to help him out in any way we can by changing his diet, doing many sensory exercises and all the things we are supposed to be doing. He’s such a sweetheart!!!!

Chuck E. Cheese

Had a great time goofing off with Papa B and Sandy today…we stopped in at Target and browsed around, headed over to Sportsman’s Warehouse for awhile then Chuck E. Cheese. The boys ALWAYS have a great time there and today was no different. Trey spent his whole time at a driving game, wonder what that means for our future. Carlos was an out of control jet fighter pilot and Levi was just tall enough to play pinball. Dee and I thought it was fun to shoot hoops against eachother.
Then it was the Evil Empire for some jammies and necessities and home for dinner and more Wii. Have I told you yet how addicted Papa B and Sandy are to the Wii? They are….pictures to follow.

It’s a blurry picture, but you get the idea…Carlos went in for an eye exam today because he’s near sighted. We thought that he was going to need glasses but it turns out he’s safe for another year. He would have looked pretty darn cute in them, though. He’s our scholar for sure and can’t you just imagine him in his tie and penny loafers with glasses????

Papa B and Sandy are Here!

vis

What a pleasant surprise, Dee’s dad and his girlfriend are here to visit us this week. They’ve been in town (down in Hoquiam) for about a month now visiting Linda, Scott and the girls but haven’t been able to make it up due to snow, ice, floods and all. It is so great to see them and the boys went absolutely nuts when they heard Papa B was coming to town.
We had a nice family dinner with Maymay and Alice then did our Christmas celebration with Papa B and Sandy. They spoiled the boys…they each got a Scooby Doo movie (their favorite!), a notepad and some preschool learning books, a sweatshirt and a cool ceremic sports bank with money inside. We had one minor disappointment when Carlos opened his basketball bank and went to bounce it….shattered all over the living room and he was embarassed and crushed. We’ll be on the lookout for another one for sure.
The boys are bathed and in bed, and Dee and her dad are playing Wii Golf and loving it! So nice to have Papa B and Sandy visit.
