We talked with the boys about how important today is for our country. Levi was super sweet and thought that they should all get dressed up since it was such an important day. When we pointed out Obama on the tv, Carlos said “hey, he’s brown just like me”. He’s only 4 and had no idea the magnitude of what he had said. Like they say…out of the mouthes of babes.

I love that Carlos identified with Mr. President! I am struggling to explain to Mad & Ben what this means, since they just don't really “get” the whole race thing. Which, ironically, was probably the intention and goal of the Civil Rights movement. Again, coming from the South I can't even imagine not knowing what this means.
