Tag….You're It

If you are a blogger you now have a mission. As soon as you read this, drop everything, grab your camera and take pictures of where you blog from. NO CLEANING!!! THEN, tag some lucky ducks and spread the love.
Here’s the view from where I blog. Glad the laundry had just been folded…but the dog lying in the middle of the floor and Dee’s feet visible next to me are pretty typical. THe kids do clean up their toys before they head to bed so that’s no surprise. Can’t wait to see what others of you see when you blog.
Be sure to leave a comment and let me know you did this so I can check out the views!

Got Crabs?

We took the boys out for another fishing adventure this morning after our free waffles (go check them out…no gimmicks…Blue Ocean Cafe!!!). Levi actually had 2 fish on, one almost brought in but he’s yet to learn how to really set a hook so he lost them both. Carlos and Trey were more excited about the crabs that Dee and I caught. I got a nice Dungeoness that had grabbed my bait from the bottom and Dee was going for the rock crab on the pilings. They were eager to grab on and get a ride up to the dock. It was fun!
We’re going on date night tonight to see the new James Bond movie, the kids are going to Saturday Club except for Carlos who’s not quite up to that. He’s excited to spend some time with Nana and Papa!

Lots of Just Relaxin

We’ve had lots of just hanging out and watching movies the last few days, trying to keep Carlos mellow. He doesn’t have a ton of energy at this point so he’s fairly willing to chill out on the couch. You would think by this sweet shot of Levi and Carlos together that it was all about together time but you’d be wrong…about 2 seconds after this picture was taken, Levi kicked Carlos off the couch. Brotherly love!

Update

My popsicle eating boy is running a little slow today…seems the sore throat has kicked in big time and he’s a hurting little guy. He’s a tough one, though, and is taking little bites of popsicle and sips of juice. The meds will kick in here soon and all will be good again. It’s hard as a mom to see your little one in pain, pain that you can’t take away for them. Dee and I looked at his throat yesterday and were completely amazed at how open it is, there’s actually space for him to swallow things and breathe now. That’s gotta feel good.
Off to watch Vampire Scooby Doo….again.

Carlos is a ROCK STAR!

Here is a great shot pre-surgery of the monstrous tonsil

He didn’t care he was in a gown, he was happy to pose for a picture.

After some “I don’t care about anything” juice he was fine to head off to the OR without Mamas

Took awhile for him to want to wake up, he was groggy for sure but that didn’t last long.

Popsicle #1…he wanted to start with orange and work his way through ALL three flavors they had to offer.

Thanks for all the good vibes our way…Carlos was AMAZING and even the nurses couldn’t believe what a tough little guy he is. She’d never seen a child his age get so few pain meds and want to stay to eat THREE popsicles before they went home. He wanted to be sure he tried all the flavors. That’s our boy. He’s back home now and resting comfortably. He’s yet to have pain meds and still appears to be tired but pain free, hoping tomorrow goes as well for him.

Bye Bye Tonsils

We’re going to be taking Carlos into Children’s Hospital tomorrow morning for his tosil and adnoid-ectomy. We’re all set here…the jello is made, the KoolAid ice cubes are made, he picked out some popsicles and Nana is on high alert to help out with whatever we’ll need. WHEW! I know it will all work out just fine, he’s a trooper, but I still stress out about it. He’s been a basket case the last couple days and I can’t blame him. We’ve explained as best we can what’s going to happen, but he’s 4 years old and it’s all still scary and unknown.
Keep our little guy in your thoughts and prayers!
