Just saw Kung Fu Panda tonight and it was fabulous! The boys loved it and so did we, that doesn’t happen all that often. Anyhow, some cute lines from the movie and then one from Carlos.

“Sca-doosh” – Kung Fu Panda

“There is no charge for awesomeness or attractiveness” – Kung Fu Panda

“There will be none of that kicking me here fat panda!”- Carlos to Trey

We Are Family

More pictures from vacation….at the arcade in Ocean Shores, eating ice cream, Linda & Scott bring the girls over for dinner and ping pong, family portrait on the porch. Thank God there was a washing machine there, we did our laundry right before we left so coming home all we had to do was put things away!

Need a Funny Read?

One of the blogs I read, The Gremlin Wrangler, has written a book (actually 2) called “Letters from you Friendly Cashier”. You can check out her post about it here, but it’s sure to entertain. She’s doing a giveaway for people who link to her blog, so I’m posting because of that but I’m also happy to write a little something for her since I enjoy reading her blog daily. The Letters from your Friendly Cashier section appear often and always have me laughing.

Check her out!

Go Fly A Kite

The weather isn’t ideal, it’s rainy and windy, but we’ve made the most of it and have been out enjoying the times when the rain lets up. We went bike riding again, took a dip in the hot tub and Nana and Papa made a tasty steak dinner (the picture of Carlos is him eating his favorite…salad!).
We brought the boys each a cheap kite to fly, they were different because instead of having tubing to make the frame, they were inflatable. Good idea, in theory. One of the kites didn’t hold air so it was a dud, one of the kites insisted on flying upside down so it was a total loser, but the Mikey Mouse kite was champ and flew and flew and flew. The wind here wasn’t consistent so
the boys hung out underneath the kite and waited for it to come screaming back to Earth and smash into the ground.
Hoping to get to the beach today and maybe grab a milkshake a the little rickety beach burger joint they have here.

You Sunk My Battleship!

We’re at the ocean with Nana and Papa and the house is amazing and we’ve had some time to wind down and just relax, what a treat! . The boys were excited to play Battleship and “help” out with putting in the pegs. We went on a walk to the playground and Carlos used his umbrella as a walking stick so he could be just like Papa. We played some football and checked out the playground. Trey took a nap with Nana and Papa while Dee and I hooked up the bike trailer and rode the bikes around Seabrook to check out the houses. Let me tell you…those boys are heavy to haul around and it was me doing the hauling because the trailer hooked onto the pink bike. Dee wasn’t about to ride a pink bike!
Off to do…um….NOTHING! Happy vacation!

Hit Me With Your Best Shot

I am ecstatic…I have been saving up money to buy a new camera and I got it today! It’s a Nikon D40 and I love it already. It’s not top shelf or anything but it’s great for what I’m going to use it for, pictures of the boys. We took them out to play this afternoon after aikido and got some wonderful shots already. I’ve always loved photography so here’s a step in the right direction.
Hope you like the pictures as much as I do! Amazing the difference the camera can make.

Bummed Out

I was so excited to go to the boy’s preschool end of the year picnic, I had my mom all set up to watch Alice and Trey and got the boys fed some lunch so they could go and just play and not have to stop to eat and we were ready to go have some fun. We got in the van, got to the park and apparently the party was from 11-1 and I had it written down as 1-3. So, we got there just as it was ending. The boys seemed to do ok with it, Levi was a great boost in saying that it was ok, he will see his teachers and friends tomorrow (yeah, he hasn’t quite got that school is over for the year). The boys got to play for 1/2 hour and see a couple of their teachers, but I am seriously disappointed. I feel cheated, and have only myself to blame. I run the kids all over God’s green Earth all the time and was so looking forward to actually hanging out with the teachers and other parents instead of just passing from one activity to the other. Note to self: I need to get out more if missing a preschool picnic makes me tear up!

Ch-Ch-Ch-Changes

We’ve been super busy the last few days. Aren’t the weekends supposed to be for relaxing? After a busy night at the M’s game, I had to get up early, early and take my things down to the Mom’s Consignment sale in Winslow. Got some things sold (disappointing turn out to say the least and I only made $150) and out of the house and have others still priced so maybe we’ll have a sale here soon to get rid of it. Lots of cute boys summer clothes 12 months-3t (call me if you wanna come look!) and cheap prices.
Anyhow, after the sale we had more photo viewings from the portrait party and then the boys all had eye appts. Turns out the both Levi and Trey are pretty typically far sighted (that will most likely resolve itself) and Carlos is near sighted (which most likely will get worse rather than better). Mary was out in the garden when we got back and we decided we needed a grown-ups night out. Carolyn came and hung out with the crew while we went to Ghandi for some amazing Indian food and then Mary and I went to see Sex in the City while Dee (who refused to see the chick flick) went to see Ironman. All in all, a nice break.
Sunday Nana and I took Carlos to the Guatemalan Picnic down in Winslow. Some great food, lots of kids running around who look like Carlos. It was fun and always good to get him in that environment. He wanted to play on his own, which wasn’t surprising, but we all enjoyed it and he loved having the time alone with just Mama K and Nana.
While we were at the picnic, Dee took Trey and Levi over to play in the shop at Patti and Jeanie’s. They always love it there. Like typical boys they ran around and got dirty and Trey scuffed up his face when he took a nose first dive into their driveway. The big treat was that they got to see the kittens…so cute! They are trying so hard to get us to bring a kitty home. It’s hard to say no, because there is a little grey female that I would totally choose. My grandma used to read me the story of Mimi the Merry-Go-Round Cat over and over and over and it goes something like this: “Mimi was a kitten, a soft, gray kitten, a blue eyed kitten. Mimi had many friends….” Anyhow, because of this book I’ve always wanted a little gray kitten. We’ll see.
Today was the last day of preschool, I’m not good with change. It’s not about the boys being gone for a couple hours during the day that I am sad, it’s about missing seeing the teachers and getting the support we depend on. I like routine, it’s just who I am. But summer will be fun and we have lots of things planned. Hoping to hit a bunch of parks, take some family hikes as well as swimming lessons, camps and maybe soccer and LOTS of time hanging out in the backyard.
Naptime’s just about over….time to wrap it up! Hello summer vacation.
