Anyone in the market for 14 pairs of boy’s shoes!? I’d even ship them to you at the REAL postal rate! Here’s the Craigslist ad (http://seattle.craigslist.org/kit/bab/525582849.html). Anyhow, I’m embarassed at the number of pairs of shoes our boys had…had is the key word. We spent 2 hours trying on shoes and getting rid of pairs they never wear. It’s basically a twice annual ordeal. We make it as fun as we can, but how fun is trying on a bazillion pairs of shoes!? Good news…Carlos is now in a 7 1/2 (insert wild applause), Levi is a solid 9 and Trey is, well, a 2 year old wearing a size 10 1/2. The kid’s got Fred Flintstone feet!

Levi and Carlos kept busy and discovered that Levi can actually lift and carry Carlos across the room. How fun is that!? Trey (don’t comment on the Princess pull-ups…you use what you have!) and Dee got some snuggle time in in between pairs of shoes. We’ve got it down to about 6 pairs per kid, not counting Crocs and boots. That’s REALLY good for me. I think I may be needing to hit some stores tomorrow to check out their clearance shoes……

Tackle It Tuesday

Tackle It Tuesday Meme

So I’m going to start “Tackle It Tuesday” which came from another blogging mom. It’s to get a project done that you’ve been meaning to do…get organized…and making Tuesday your completion day.

Today I’m counting making this to do list as part of my goal. On the list: organize freezer, deal with my closet, sort out clothes in the boy’s drawers, Dee’s closet and finally the shed.

I’ll feel good to get some of these long time disorganized places into shape!

Happy New Year!

The weather here has been beautiful, so we took advantage of it and took the boys down to the beach. The boys just love going and turning over rocks to find little crabs. The mini ones pose no threat so they will hold them, but once they get to be about 2 inches long they won’t come close to them for fear of being pinched. Dee turned over some HUGE rocks (Hercules! Hercules!) that had a bazillion crabs underneath and one even had two 4 inch long fish. It was nice family time, we are lucky to live where we can just walk down the hill and enjoy the beach.
Alisa and Holly came over to celebrate New Years with us last night. We had some drinks and some munchies and played the Wii. We adore them and they are those friends you just “click” with right off. So in the picture of Alisa and Dee “bowling” you will notice Alisa’s pant leg is wet. Seriously, every time she comes here she spills her wine. It’s too funny. We had the best time playing the Wii, if you don’t know how it works you need to try it. When you bowl, you really bowl with the remote. It’s all sensors that track your movements. I am so glad we bought it. It’s quite the workout, too. Dee and I rented Madden football to play and are kind of getting it down.
Poor Carlos was having a rough time getting to sleep and was fussing and crying. He ended up throwing up and it was emotional so we had him sleep on our shoulder in the living room to keep him close. Alisa and Holly took off, Dee and I played a little more Wii and rang in the New Year out on the front porch wrapped in blankets, watching the Space Needle fireworks.
Happy New Year everyone, looking forward to 2008 and what adventures it will bring.
