Happy Thanksgiving

Hope you all had a very Happy Thanksgiving. Ours was mellow but perfect (well besides the smoke…but more on that later). We had a lazy morning in jammies while Dee was busy preparing the big Thanksgiving feast. It’s all her doing, I didn’t lift a finger, although I offered to help out. Dee makes a great meal, it’s carrying on the tradition of her mom’s cooking and she would have made her mom proud. She tried Safeway’s 2 hour turkey and it was good….but….our kitchen doesn’t have a fan, and the way the 2 hour turkey works is that it cooks at a high temp for a short period of time. It splattered grease all over the oven, thus causing the kitchen and eventually the rest of the house to fill with smoke. It was a bummer.
Nana and Papa came over for dinner and we took the boys down to the beach to throw rocks in the water and collect some shells before we ate. Actually it was mostly to get them out of Dee’s hair while she finished the final touches on the food. They had a ball until Carlos hit Levi in the head with a rock. All good things come to and end.
We came back and enjoyed the meal and then sent the boys into the living room to watch a movie while we had some grownup time playing UNO and Yahtzee. The boys TRASHED the living room, but were so funny because they were dressing up and coming in to show off their latest fashion. Trey kept coming in (he’d stripped down to a diaper and sunglasses at this point) and saying “we have to hurry…goodbye” and running back into the living room.
All and all much to be thankful for and a great day.
