If it's not one, it's another

Thought the pirate pictures would look good with the new blog layout, but this picture is also a perfect depiction of Carlos and how he has been today. I think he’s nervous about starting preschool and he’s just been acting out a ton. He can be the most amazing, kind, caring, sensitive, thoughtful little guy and then on the other hand he can be SO tough. When he’s tough, he’s a total pirate and just wants to battle and battle and battle….sure, he stops and takes a nap, but once he’s up again he’s ready for battle. It’s exhausting. I’m hoping school will wear him out a little and get him some added boundaries that he so desparately needs.
Anyhow, we had fun today…Jefferson and his baby brother Kristian were here today, as well as Alice. We played in the morning, Levi went to school (yes, he ate and got dressed this morning!) and Alice went in the afternoon. After nap we made some killer chocolate chip/macadamia cookies from scratch and then went outside to run off some energy and calories.
Tomorrow Carlos has to get a shot (eeeew) to be up to date for school Monday, then Nana’s gonna watch the guys while Dee and I go to Carlos’ IEP meeting at the school. Should be interesting to hear the professional’s take on our little guy. My mom got it just right, he’s a real life imp…definition “An imp is a mythological being similar to a fairy or demon, frequently described in folklore and superstition. Imps are usually described as mischievous more than seriously threatening. They are usually described as lively and having small stature.”
