This picture of Carlos pretty much sums up the week….we’re wiped out! Levi had Land of the Dinosaurs camp which he totally loved. We saw his “play” to end camp today, hilarious but very well done. This is a camp we’ll sign him up for next year for sure.
The boys have also been going to swimming lessons, which they are doing very well at. Levi especially likes being in the water. We’ve got some work to do to have him pass to Kinder 2, he’s got to keep his face underwater for 5 seconds and he’s doing 3 seconds now. Got him some goggles and we’re going to practice in the bathtub, too.
We have a new addition for a short stay here…a little girl who is 2 days old. Picked her up this evening, she’s been great so far but we’ll see how the first night goes. She’s BIG…8 pounds, 15 ounces and eats a ton. Fingers crossed she’ll be an easy baby.
Off to bed, early morning tomorrow….Mary’s yard sale (in our yard) is happening at 8:30 am with lots of set up to do. Hope she sells some stuff!

Here are a couple of seriously grainy pictures of the boys at swimming lessons. It’s tough to take a good picture at the pool. I’ll keep trying!
We’ve gor our friends, Alisa and Holly joining Mary, Dee and I for dinner and Levi’s going for a sleepover at Alice’s grandparents house so they will have fun! Should be a great night all along.

We got a visit from our friends, Jodi and Terry and they brought their new foster baby, who is now 3 weeks old and beautiful. It was fun to have a little baby time. Funny connection, they had Trey for the first week of his life before he came to live with us. Anyhow, they sent us some new pictures of Trey as a newborn.
We celebrated Papa’s birthday last night by going over to my parent’s house to have dinner. It was so tasty! The kids loved playing with the new Rescue Heroes that my folks got at garage sales and they even watched a video while we played a game of UNO and Yahtzee. We had so much fun.
I got out tonight for dinner with friends, and a movie! What a treat. We saw Knocked Up, which Dee and I saw already but it was totally escapist and funny. Worth seeing for sure.
Land of the Dinosaurs camp for Levi was great, and Levi, Carlos and Alice all were rockstars in the swimming pool for their first lesson. They loved it! Same thing again tomorrow…and the next day…and the next day….

Here are some pictures of the wedding…it was great! Everything was perfect, Lian and Pat were both glowing and completely in love, they are a great couple. Trey even snuck in a kiss with the bride. Got a chance to see lots of Clipper people and it was so great to catch up. A shout out to you all!
Here are a couple of videos of Trey dancing with Hannah (David and Lana’s little girl) and Levi dancing with our friend, Anna (who was the maid of honor). Our boys LOVE to be out on the dance floor. Carlos just wanted to be held, go figure.

Off to watch “Breach” then get some sleep! Papa’s birthday tomorrow, coffee with Margaret and lunch with Holly. Gonna be a fun one!

Soccer started up again yesterday for Levi and Carlos. It’s outdoors this time so it was different for them but they loved it. Coach Grant is amazing and goofy and really plays with the kids and gets them involved. One of their friends is playing as well so that’s fun and now I have someone to chat with while the boys are on the field.

Last night was swimming, and was fun as always. I think we’ve got Carlos excited about swimming lessons now and even ok with the idea that mamas won’t be going in the pool with him for lessons. We’ll see how that works out for us when lessons start on Monday. Levi got to go with me on the water slide and LOVED it. Carlos got close to going, but said “no thank you, mama” and didn’t want to go down. He’s getting really good and kicking in the water. Trey is a fish, he loved being in the water and swimming around. Now if only we could find one more grown up to want to go swimming, we could really go crazy in the pool. Ha ha ha.

Here are a couple short video clips….one is Carlos saying his prayers (“now I lay me down to sleep, I pray the Lord my soul to keep, angels watch us through the night, and wake us with the morning light. Amen”) and the other is the boys dancing to Amy Winehouse…is it wrong that they love the song “rehab”? 🙂

We’ve got some friends coming to see us this morning….they are also foster parents who had Trey the first week of his life, now they have 3 girls including a 3 week old baby! It’ll be great to see them. Then we’re off to Lian and Pat’s wedding!!! The boys are excited to wear their ties, fingers crossed that they will do ok with the rest and behave, I’m mostly only worried about Trey but we’ll see. And we get to see lots of Clipper friends, woo hoo and especially Beth!

Feeling much better now, whew….Dee’s got the cold, though and I’m still coughing but we’ll survive. Knock on wood, the boys have stayed healthy this time.

We got to go out Saturday night. What a treat! Holly (http://www.hollyoreilly.com/ … seriously, check her out!) was playing at a house concert in West Seattle so I took Dee to it for an early anniversary present. The food was great and hearing Holly play with the sun setting over the water was amazing. Check out the Firefly concert series if you get a chance…google it. It was worth it for sure and something we’ll try to do again. And a gigantic thank you to Nana/Papa for taking the boys overnight so we could go to the show. Thank heavens the boys behaved…maybe they’ll be invited back! 🙂

On Saturday before we left, I took the boys to the Fire Dept “touch a truck” and they got to get in the Coast Guard helicopter, in the firetruck and ambulance and they even got to spray the firehose. They loved it.

Father’s Day was really nice, we had Papa come over for brunch and to open presents. They love their Papa! Next weekend is his birthday and all the boys have been practicing singing and asking every day if it’s his birthday yet.

I took the kids and Abbie down to the beach today to build sand castles. We were there forever and the kids splashed in the water, tried to dig up clams (ha!), and threw the ball for Abbie. Came home, all were seriously tired and hunkered down to eat and watch a movie.
Oh and BIG news….Carlos is going to sleep in his own bed, on his own now! WOO HOO! That’s been a year coming. He still crawls into our bed in the middle of the night, but at least he’s doing it on his own.
Off to bed!

June 15, 2007

I came down with a nasty cold this morning…arrgh, off to bed. But wanted to share the link to Carlos’ 3 year old portraits. Just put “Kendra Field” as the customer name.

Took the kids to the symphony today and walked around the “big city” and even rode a city bus, which the kids thought was very fun.

Off to bed so I can hopefully have a fun weekend!

What a treat, we got to go out to a movie! Nana and Papa watched the boys, they had a blast and watched “Night at the Museum” for the 900th time and ate popcorn and hung out. They must have played hard because they fell fast asleep as soon as we got home, no fussing.

We saw “Knocked Up” and it was hilarious! So nice to get out for a bite to eat and a movie without anyone asking for something or needing something. And a funny movie, too. 🙂 Going to bed happy.

Tomorrow we’ve got a playdate, Levi’s school picnic then Carlos’ speech therapy. Our neighbors down below have their sons in the Babe Ruth baseball playoffs so we may go see them play tomorrow night. Also hoping to get the boys back in the swimming pool for a bit. Whew, tired just thinking about it…..

Big news at our place…Trey is now sleeping in a “big boy bed.” He did great in it last night, only woke up once and at that point he climbed up into Levi’s bed to sleep which was too cute.

Only one more school day left for Levi, then a class picnic, we’re going to try to go swimming again Wednesday night and Friday is the Tiny Tots Symphony so that’ll be fun.

BUSY weekend but so fun! We had a BBQ at our friend, Lee’s place on Saturday night, then the boys came home for a quick nap and then we headed out to Paxton Kruse’s graduation party. Brought Dee and the boys home, then headed out to Holly’s for dinner and a party. So much fun!

Today we went to coffee with Margaret and Holly at the bakery, then finished up and headed to the Commons for a Guatemalan group picnic. It was really fun, and SO many adorable little Guatemalan kids. What a beautiful people. Got the boys home to nap, Dee mowed most the lawn and the guys went outside to play while I washed the car. Patti and Jeanie brought us dinner (oh thank you thank you) and hung out. What fun, we miss seeing them more often. They totally spoil the boys, too…and the boys got cookies, watermelon and Pepsi (“bubble juice”) which was such a treat, they ONLY get that from Patti and Jeanie.

This is the last week of school for Levi, should be interesting to see how he does without that every day. They are pretty booked up this summer but the routine of school will be missed.

Enjoy this pictures…and here’s the link of Gramma Patti singing, it’s hilarious:
