We had such a fun weekend, got to visit with friends, work in the garden and clean out some junk!
We had Alisa and Holly over for dinner last night, made big plans for our 4th of July party and now Dee has a partner in crime at the grill, Holly! The boys bombarded them with books and couldn’t get enough stories in. It was so great to just hang out and catch up on life.
Patti and Jeanie came over for dinner tonight, after taking Levi for the day to hang out with them and we got back to our Sunday dinner with Godmas time. Nice to be settled into that again, we all really enjoyed it.
Our garden is going great! We got all the beds weeded and ready to plant. We got some starts of acorn squash and zucchini and we planted beets, spinach and carrots. My harb garden is taking off as well so we should have fresh vegatables and herbs to go along with them. We’re ready to plant more tomorrow night.
Dee made a trip to the dump with the boys and now our backyard is starting to look presentable and less like hillbilly white trash. WOO HOO! The 5 acres are mowed, the outside toys are sorted through and organized and the garden is started….now if we can count on the good weather, we’ll be spending all of our time outside.

We caught a fish! If you look closely in the pictures you will be able to see it, quite impressive (probably 6 inches long at the most). The boys were excited…but I think they liked eating chips at 9:30 in the morning better. All in all, a good experience and a new Field-Bennett family tradition.

Happy weekend! Going out to enjoy the sunshine and plant some veggies in the garden!

Carlos’ new look, the wink and a thumbs up is super cheesy and great! A trucker in the making.

The big boys had soccer this morning and loved it again. They are having so much fun with that, I’m glad they got signed up. It’s perfect for Carlos, too, to get a little time away from Mama.
After such a busy day this morning, and tomorrow looking crazy as well we put on “Cars” for the boys to watch. Trey picked the movie and it’s his absolute favorite. He gets so excited when Lightning McQueen comes on the screen, he screams “Ka-chow!” and claps and screams.
Tomorrow Nana, Papa and I are going to take Levi and Carlos to Sportsmans Club pond to fish. An island tradition and I can’t wait to see how they do. We dug worms to take to the pond tomorrow, too so that was fun. Papa has been working on getting their poles set up. Should be a fun morning. After that, Dee and Gramma Patti are taking them to Home Depot for some “man” time and I get some time with Trey. Then we’ve got our friends, Alisa and Holly and their son, Jack, coming over for dinner! Whew, good day!

Someone suggested writing down some of the things the boys have said…just to remember. I’ll keep adding as they come to me, if there are any (or funny stories about the boys) that stick out in your mind, please feel free to email me.

Levi, about hiccups – “Dude, I’ve got the hookups”

Trey – “I Rock!”

Carlos – “What you say, mama?”

The first picture is the panarama shot of our yard this afternoon…I know it’s small, but kinda a cool picture. We got a new playhouse! Thanks to Nana and Papa doing some magic, we now have the Yeomalt Cabin Fund playhouse as our own. The kids love it and spent most the afternoon playing in it.
We got invited to Holly’s place tonight for pizza and Mary and Alice came along, too. The kids LOVED playing in their backyard and had so much fun. It was great to have adult time for us, too! We always enjoy both Holly and Mary’s company. Hanging out on the porch, drinking a beer and watching the kids play just felt right.

The big boys started soccer today! They were totally cute in their uniforms and they had a ball. Lessons are at the Zone and Trey played in the indoor play area while Levi and Carlos had their lessons. It worked out perfect. One picture in the lot was hilarious when Carlos was telling his coach how to play soccer.

Gabe came over this afternoon, too and played with us for awhile. We played playdoh, trains and made cookies! Yum!

I got some time away last night…what a treat! Hopped on the ferry, got picked up from my dear friend from high school, Jenn, and we goofed around at Archie McPhee’s and then grabbed a bite to eat at a little ale house then headed over to the Tractor Tavern to see Holly play. Nathan joined us, too and we had fun listening to some great music and catching up.

Got Levi off to school this morning and met up with my mom and McKenna at Battle Point park to play. The boys had a great time, it was chilly but they got to run around and burn off some energy.

Gabe and Maddie came over to play for awhile, Maddie tried to enlighten Levi by reading him Harry Potter (that lasted about 2 minutes before he moved on to playing with trains), Gabe had fun with Levi and Carlos playing with trains. For some reason Trey tries to pick fights with Gabe, it’s weird and I have no reason why but it’s going to stop. All in all the kids had fun.

Family dinner with Mary and Alice was tonight so we ordered up pizza and then went down for “teaparty” at Mora. Boys are in bed now, I’ve got Jefferson and Alice coming in the morning. Should be busy but fun day as always! Nana is coming to watch the boys in the evening so Dee and I can go out to a movie, that’ll be a treat, too. Two nights out in one week….amazing!
