Today was a HUGE sale at Old Navy and I got a ton of stuff for both Dee and I and the boys. Kids slippers were only $1.50 so I got a pair for each of the boys, and Levi was with me and picked PINK ones. It was what he wanted, go figure. Also got some great deals at Target and felt like the day was a positive one in the shopping dept. Carlos had a great time, spending the morning with Nana and having some one on one time. He SO loves that and does just amazingly. He even came home and took a nap for me with no hassle!
We spent the later evening we did the “try on all your shoes” game with the boys to see who’s wearing what sizes now. Carlos still in a 6, Trey is a 7 (but Wide) now, Levi at an 8. Trey played wearing only his diaper and a cowboy hat, it was quite a sight.
Oh, and the big boys ate glowing Lightning McQueen and Tow Mater lollipops that they got from Grammas Patti and Jeanie. YUM! The pictures don’t do them justice, they really made their mouths light up. They had a great time with them.

Some random pictures of the last couple days…we’ve had some friends come over to play, built a HUGE fort in the living room, played some darts, and just hung out. Tomorrow I’m jazzed that I get to run over to Old Navy and buy some stuff for the boys at the 50% off clearance sale. I’m all about a good sale.
Peace out all…nothing else to type!

Trey had his 18 month check up today…got shots (bummer but he was a trooper and now won’t have to get more until he’s 4 years old). He’s healthy, 31 pounds and in the 95+ percentile for his age. The funny part is…Trey’s head is 50 centimeters around and mine is only 52 inches! Wondering how big he’s gonna be….he’s wearing the same size shoes as Levi at this point and almost wearing the same clothes size as him as well.

It’s been busy here today, Alice, Jefferson and Connor all came to play and even though we’ve been stuck inside because of the crummy weather, all have been playing very well together.

NOt too much else to report….hoping to keep our power on this time around and that we can stay warm!

Carlos showing off his new underwear (keep in mind it’s a little big because it’s tough to find underwear that will fit out little guy…he’s wearing 18-24 months clothes and the smallest underwear is 3T). Can’t believe that he’s 100% potty trained himself in a week and now it’s like he was never in diapers. He’s very proud. Amazing! Fingers crossed that Trey will follow soon….

Some more vacation photos from my folks and brother’s cameras!

Also, for those doubters of the “grocery game” that think that all you can get are cheap, processed foods….today I went shopping at both Safeway and Albertsons, spent a total of $110 and got 2 whole crabs, 4 steaks, a pork roast, 5 chicken cordon bleu (from the meat dept, not frozen!), a bunch fish fillets, t.p., apples, oranges, bananas, broccoli, zucchini, Carlos’ yogurt juice as well as a few processed things….pretty healthy I must say and still stayed within budget. Ha, it’s not junk!

Anyhow, enjoy the pictures…..

Back to the Children’s museum for me, Nana, Levi, Carlos and Luca on the last day we were in Montrose while Todd took Dee, Papa and Trey up to the Black Canyon for some sightseeing.
On the last day, Dee was still on the McDonald’s strawberry milkshake diet (the only thing that tasted good for her…hey, she lost 10 pounds!). We checked out of the Biker hotel in the morning (that place rocked…their sign said “Happy Harleydays” and the room fit our needs well) and went our separate ways for a little while. We met back up and spent about an hour hanging out before we had to go to the airport.
Let me tell you, it was MUCH harded travelling with three kids without my parents there to help out. Carlos fell asleep on my shoulder just before we went through security so that made that part fun. Dee took the brunt of getting the other two through and I did as much as I could with Carlos still sleeping. It was tough to say goodbye for sure, the time seemed to fly and I left feeling like I didn’t get enough time to visit. Levi and Luca really hit it off and they really could have hung out for much longer.
Anyhow, we get on the plane and our seats don’t technically exist. They rearranged some people and I ended up in the back of the plane with Carlos on my lap and Trey sitting next to me. Dee and Levi disappeared to the front of the plane, which was fine but Levi ended up sitting on her lap the whole trip since they didn’t have a seat for him (we are getting $200 in vouchers since I complained….but that’s a long story). The flight was good, we got off the plane and found a bite to eat in the Denver airport and got on our last flight. Immediately after we got to our seats, Trey peed through his diaper and onto Dee’s lap…yuck! Then he wanted to sit with me and we all ended up smelling like an old nursing home by the end of the flight. About 20 minutes before we landed, Carlos and Trey started screaming, I’m guessing their ears were hurting, I know mine were. The flight attendant came and started singing a lullabye to them and they finally settled down a little. We landed, got our bags, caught the shuttle to the car and headed to the ferry. Missed the 10:55 by 1 minute and waited until the 12:15. All in all, we started our journey at 3:00 our time, finally got home at 1:45am our time. Long day!
We truly had fun but it is good to be home, we finally got unpacked, laundry done and the house De-Christmased. Things are starting to seem back to normal and back into our little routine. Looking forward to Nana and Papa coming home tomorrow!
Footnote….traveling with three boys 3 and under is a LOT of work!

January 5, 2007 (part 5)

Christmas in January….it was fun to celebrate with Todd and Monica, we stuck to presents for the kids and the boys got super cute windsuits (that they wore on the plane ride home and looked adorable in) and some really great games. They also got a talking broom and dustpan that they are loving now that we are home. We got Luca a lifelike fish that swims in the tub and has a magnetic mouth and a pole that you can actually use to catch the fish. Todd filled up the bathtub and the boys all huddled around and took turns fishing. They had a ton of fun with it…even though Todd objected because it was a BASS setup instead of a fly fishing set up.

Snow day! We drove up to the Adobe Hills to get to some snow. The boys went absolutely nuts. They were running around chasing mamas and throwing snowballs, building snowmen with Nana (who came equipt with carrots for noses and rocks for eyes), Levi made snow angels, Levi and Carlos went exploring in the hills and Trey ate lots of snow. Doesn’t Papa look super cool with his shades and hat? Stylin in the snow for sure. The best day of the trip for sure, beautiful scenery with the boys belly laughs as the soundtrack, couldn’t have been better.

January 5, 2007 (part 3)

We watched a lot of Polar Express (Luca’s favorite DVD) and we took the boys to the Montrose Children’s Museum to play. There was a paint store next door and the fumes were strong so Dee hung out and read in the car.

At the museum, Luca played with this animal train he found, Levi liked setting the table in the kitchen and playing with the big dump truck, Trey liked the birdseed table and Carlos was thrilled to make “coffee” and serve it to Nana and Mama
