Had to share this CUTE picture of Carlos kissing his girlfriend, Faith. There’s just something about her that he loves…he’s always trying to kiss her hand, give her hugs, etc. She’s too cute, she gets shy if you ask if she has a boyfriend. 😉 Also, Ann came over for coffee this morning and it was great to see her, the kids swarmed her and wanted to do “carpetwheels” and read books. I was quite impressed with Ann’s carpetwheel, I haven’t done a cartwheel in years and am afraid my poor wrist just wouldn’t hold.

Getting ready to plan the garden, it’ll be great. It’s a gigantic space to fill, we have 5 families working on it so I think we’ll have plenty of workers and ideas. Amazingly, it’s a 35′ x 50′ space. YIKES! I think we’ll forget about the weeds, though, and go with raised beds so we can bring in great new soil and all.

I’m off to get some lunch ready for the babies, they should be waking up here real quickly. TGIF!

Ok, so if anyone has any great ideas about how to get a two year old to get out of bed in the morning and go potty, PLEASE don’t hesitate to share them! It seems our oldest son is hesitant to get up in the mornings and would rather yell for us to come tell him to get up and then wet the bed if we don’t get there in time, rather than just walking to the bathroom! I just don’t get it. I guess I’m glad he’s not up and wandering the house in the middle of the night, but this is crazy.

Went to our last baby sign class last night, learned signs for manners and relatives (they go hand in hand). Weeknights trying to get the boys fed and bathed and then get out the door are tough so I’m glad we’re done but the class was really great and we learned a ton. Carlos and Dominic are doing signs quite a bit now so that’s fun to see. It was an ASL based class, too so that makes it even better, at least they weren’t learning funky baby signs!

Dee’s off working in Poulsbo today, and Alice should be here soon to play with the boys. I think we’ll all go to Walmart and see if there are any Valentine’s clearance left. I’m also scoping out the kid’s room decor stuff…my mom and I took the boys to Silverdale yesterday and got some flannel to make them matching blankets for their beds. Dee and I are planning on repainting their room and having it be a baseball theme (big surprise!) and these blankets will be perfect. Anyhow, the Walmart had a baseball theme twin bed set in the same colors as these blankets so we can buy the accessories for the room without having to buy the bedding to match. It was for twin beds anyhow, we’re a long way from twin beds!

Ciao! Happy Thursday!

Well, no more Little League for Kendra and Dee…shocking, I know but certainly not our choice. Basically it was decided that even though we have put in 6 years of blood, sweat and tears our position was given to someone who has a daughter playing ball. Lots of drama and hurt feelings, all in all we’ll be fine and get over it I’m sure. Some people are outraged and really backing us and that’s so nice to hear, but we’re done.

Anyhow, we’re excited about planning our garden and really getting a great one this year. It’s an overwhelming project since the garden is HUGE and overgrown at this point, but we have friends and neighbors who are wanting to make it a pea patch type thing and that sounds good to us. Maybe raised beds will be best, we’ll have to see. A neighbor measured it out and it came to 1500 sq feet which seems gigantic to me! Should be a great garden!

Time to head to the post office, I’ve been selling kids clothes on Ebay to make a little extra money. I’m saving up for an iPod so I can listen to music in the car….wish me luck!

Didn’t think I’d be starting a blog at 3:49am but…I guess it’s part of the joy of having young kids. Started out with Trey crying around 1:30, then finally got him back to sleep and the Carlos started in at 2:00. Brought Carlos into bed with us, moved Trey to Carlos’ bed and for some reason Carlos just wouldn’t settle down. Put him in Trey’s bed to try to let us get a couple hours sleep but he screamed so loud he woke up Trey again. So, here I am sitting in the freezing cold living room while Carlos and Trey play. Just doesn’t seem right.

We’ve had a rough week this week anyhow…the team Dee and I have coached for the past 4 years has been “retired.” With that goes our managing/coaching positions. So, after putting our heart and soul into the league and our team for the last 6 years, we’ve been replaced. There are a lot of hurt feelings on our part but at this point we are done and we’ll find things to do other than coach. I feel badly for our girls, as they are going to get the short end of the stick and the team will be split up. Guess it’s time for us to move on to other things…we sure will miss the team and our kids.

We’re starting to get excited about our garden again, though…without the coaching hours we will be able to actually work it and get some results. I think the boys will get a kick out of playing in the dirt, too.

I’m exhausted and I know tomorrow’s going to be a tough one…I don’t do well with two nights of no sleep and Dee’s working in the morning. 😦 Wish me luck!!

Happy Valentine’s Day! We have been busy, busy having the boys make Valentine’s cards and candy and cookies. They’ve enjoyed the projects and the change of pace and it’s been fun to do crafts with them, although very messy!

Dee, Mary and I took advantage of the beautiful weather and took the kids down to the beach. They love throwing rocks into the water! Trey just wanted to chew on a stick, but we wouldn’t let him so he got fussy and we headed back. It was great to get the kids out to enjoy with sunshine.

We took them out to eat last night at Silver City and then to ice cream at Cold Stone Creamery (YUM!!) and they were great. They’re all rested up for the deliveries we have to make tonight! They will be excited to get their Valentine’s, too…who doesn’t love candy and coloring books? 🙂 Hope it’s a great Valentine’s for you all, isn’t it romantic?!

It’s naptime again, yippee! Time to catch up on the blog and all. I uploaded some new pictures into Ofoto and you can see them if you want! There are quite a few! Got some great ones in the February pile that were taken yesterday when it was so sunny outside.

We made it through the windstorm with the power going out on Friday night. We went to my folk’s house on Saturday morning, the power was still out but they have a propane fireplace to keep the house warm and a propane stove for a hot breakfast and coffee. Dee and I spent a lot of the morning cutting up the three trees that fell on my parent’s driveway so they were able to at least get the cars out. Trey stayed with the grandparents and we took Carlos and Dominic bowling with some friends. It was great, Dominic is actually a good little bowler and Carlos slept most the time. I played a snowmobile video game with him and he was so excited to be “driving” by himself. We went out to dinner afterwards and then picked up Trey.

Got home and the power was back on and we were so thankful that we wouldn’t miss the Superbowl. Disappointment with the game, though….Seahawks were robbed! Bad calls, all against them cost them the game. If you watched it, you know what I mean. Enough about that.

Kids are close to waking up here so I better sign off. Trey’s been fighting a cough and I’m taking him into the doctor’s this afternoon so hopefully all will go well with that.

Wow, it’s been awhile here since I “blogged” but things have been busy, not allowing for much computer time.

First off on Monday, we woke to 6 inches of water in the basement and some of our things floating around amongst the water. That was fun. So, Dee borrowed a pump and got most of it out and then shop-vac’ed the rest. It’s still wet down there but it usually is a little anyhow. Good thing we had worked on it last weekend and put the bins of kid’s clothes up on blocks. All in all a hastle, but no harm done.

Wednesday I took Trey to his “flat head” appointment. All went very well, he doesn’t need a helmet but most likely he will just have a flat spot that his hair will cover up when he gets older. Bascially they are seeing a lot more of this since kids are sleeping on their backs. Also it’s more common in Asian and Samoan babies, just an evolution thing. Suzanne went along with me and after the appointment we shopped at the Goodwill and the Goodwill outlet store in Tacoma. I know it’s not fun for lots of people, but I was jazzed at all the kids clothes I got for cheap. I’m trying to collect up to 5T so I can get the bargains while they’re here. Thrifty, yes…hopefully the things I get them will still be somewhat in style when they are wearing the bigger sizes. 🙂

Wednesday night we started our Baby Sign Language class. It was GREAT! We have learned about 30 signs so far and it’s fun. Dominic and Carlos are doing amazing with it and Trey will get the idea here soon. The big boys think it’s fun, although Carlos hates when we do the “no” sign, as he thinks we’re mocking him. So far we know: more, milk, diaper, change, no, yes, counting 1-10, up, bedtime, toilet, eat, help, hurt, dirty, hot, cold, stop, and wait. We’re hoping to get family/friends onboard, too with the basic signs. Carlos will benefit most at this point, he’s so frustrated about not being able to be understood so this should help!

Hoping to get to see Brokeback Mountain with my mom tonight, then we’re headed over to my parent’s house tomorrow so Dee can help my dad build shelves in his garage. Then we’re going to take the boys bowling for the first time which should be interesting if nothing else! Have a great weekend…go Hawks!
